RPG 2003 Sets

I have a couple of questions, and you don't need need to answer all of them. thanks.



1.Could someone please give me the link to the official RPG2003site?

2.Is there any new free downloads of rpgs for th PC, ( I have 2003)

3. Is there anyway where I don't have to make my character
teleport in the same area so the event won't take place again?
(Ex. treasure chest, unlimited bows. If I selcect erase event, it dissapers, but I'll see it again if I go inside a house and go back it's there again.)

4. How do I make a slot machine? And make it say either cherry, lemon, or 7. And if three in a row, I'll get money.

5. In pokemon emerald, an old lady test players to find thier psychic ability. She askes which hand has the coin. Right or Left?
How do I do that?

6. In the faceset, how do I make everything but the face transparent in Photoshop?

7. Is there any other game making program execpt playstation 1 or 2 and the PC?

8. Is there a way I can make pictures of the item sitting right next to the items name?

9. What are paranomas for?

I' don't  know if this is supposed to be here, but I don't care anyways.

6. Your facesets can be transparent by importing them on your own. You need to make the background one color. when importing them, click on the color that yow want transparent. It worked that way for my game anyways.

I don't feel like answering anything else, but panoramas have different uses. sometimes if you want a pretty sky in your map, or a magma filled hole in the ground.  And for other creative things too.

 Yes, but I don't know any in english. (If you're talking about 2k3)

 You have to use a switch and switch it to a "open chest" os something. There's a tutorial in the tutorials section.

How do I do that?

 Ask someone else, I have no idea.

 Yes, but I don't know any.

 You mean in the menu? Only if you make a CMS. (That's short to Custom Menu System.... I think)

9. What are paranomas for?

 To use as backgrounds, like you are in the top of a mountain and you want plains to show up from the border, then you use a panorama of a plains.

It's in Japanese, I believe, so you probably wouldn't be able to read it. Besides, you can't download RM2K3 there anyways (see below)

None that we can give you. Every single version of RM2K and RM2K3 (including the original Japanese version) is illegal to download, since you originally had to buy the program. There is, however, a new version of RPG Maker called RMXP that is in English (you still have to buy it, though)

Yes. It's called a Switch Operation. There's polenty of tutorials on the subject, so look in the Tutorials and RPG Maker Programming forums.

It's doable, but I don't feel like explaining it here.

How do I do that?

Show Choice. Have the lady event show a message that says something like "Which hand is the coin in?", then a Show Choice event with two options: "Left" and "Right".

6. In the faceset, how do I make everything but the face transparent in Photoshop?

Again, check the FAQ in the RPG Maker Programming section.

7. Is there any other game making program execpt playstation 1 or 2 and the PC?

There's one for GBA, as I recall, but it's far inferior to the PC versions.

8. Is there a way I can make pictures of the item sitting right next to the items name?

In the menu? There's symbols, but otherwise, you'll have to make a custom menu system, but don't even worry about one of those yet.

9. What are paranomas for?

They're basically like backgrounds for maps. To show them, you'll have to set a part of the map to be transparent (the bottom-right chip in the default tilesets is transparent), and you'll also need a panorama.

Theres lots of them. I think the PS1, PS2, and GBA are the only systems with game making games, the PC has a ton of differant game making programs though. Most of them are harder to use than rm2k3, so I wouldn't use the other ones.

Theres hundreds of them, I'd just stick with rm2k3 or rmxp though.

Then for the slot machine thingy, don't even try it, its a hard system to make. You should get the hang of rm2k3 and learn how to use it well before trying something complicated like that.

And I can explain the psychich hand trick in depth.

Ok, you can do the show choice.

Then, under each choice,
make a variable named "Psychic Game Chance"
and have it equal random numbers between 1 and 5.

Now you need a conditional branch under each saying that is Psychic Game Chance equals 1

However, should it be greater than 1

Do decrease the odds of getting it, then increse the distance between numbers. (I.E. Instead of 1 and 5, use 1 and 20, or 1 and 50, etc.)
