Starting/Using MSN
« on: June 30, 2006, 06:07:56 PM »
Okay, I just downloades MSN Messenger. I've already installed it but it says I'm missing some wierd file. I've tried launching MSN Explorer but it says the servers are busy. What does this mean?  I'm really using AOL right now. I have Internet Explorer and Firefox too. Do I already need to be on the internet?Help?

Much better, Msn messenger is swarming with worms.

(This filters quite a few of them.)

Not entirely.  Random people can aquire your username, and do all kinds of crap to mess you up.

And yes, Trillion is awesome.

This is true.  But the world of hacking is pretty powerful these days.  So merely clicking a button on the friend request box dealy, someone could do some serious damage.

Well....if you're looking to send stuff, just use Yahoo or Rapid Share or something.  Other than that...I imagine you can send stuff on this messanger, but if it's too big to be sent over Yahoo, then it wont be sent fast like you want it to.  I haven't tried it myself.

Trillian sucks.

It doesntg let you do things the original IMs lets you do which at times makes you a loner when on chats.

Get MSN and the MSN plus. You'll treasure it forever.

Actually, the bad things through instant messenger I am talking about, are the ones that come from people ON your contact list..

Most of them run through you and your friends, and sends itself to all the people on you or your friends contact list...

It usually gets you with fake links such as...

"hey i saw you on this website http//www1.uglypeople.org/(Your email.com)"

And when you click the link, it downloads a worm which then distributes the same way through you, and messes the hell out of your computer.

Oh these people are just scaring you off of MSN.
I've never encountered one of these problems, and also I've got the appropriate AV software, so what's to worry?
