Sword of the Dawn
« on: August 27, 2006, 09:05:39 PM »
“Magic is the celestial art of converting mana waves deep within a person’s body into energy outside of a persons body.”
   - Suza

Within the land there are magicians, sorcerers, wizards, and witches. during the great age of this powerful force of magic, a war began on the continent of Denvermor. Sent by the all might Sharon, seven warriors of a silver race known as the Marikan set out to end the wrath of the dark demon emperor known as Shazmardei.
They were seven great fighters and magicians, each honing their own individual powers. Wielding unique weapons and strong armor, the seven Marikan traveled the seas to Denvermor, fought their ways to the mountainous wastelands of Aze. Their, the final battle for the great continent began, against the demon known as Shazmardei.
After the fiend was slain, Mychilo, one of the seven, thrust his sword into the heart of a powerful stone pillar, causing a wave sent across the entire land. Binding the powers off all those who practiced sorcery, magic was lost forever.

Seventy-five years later…

Mychilo, the last of the seven to still be alive after the dark times ended, had found a small boy in the woods one day. An infant, the boy was named Radclaw Azure and raised by Mychilo for twenty years.
He came into the world with a crystal, sapphire in color. The crystal made him comfortable in the world, until he rubbed it one day, and a power had awoken within him. Water and ice were at his command. As the years carried on, he learned to control this power. But soon, the truth would reveal itself to him, in the form of war.
One day, a man named Kairou Heet came to Radclaw’s hometown of Bylyt, and Radclaw learned that Kai, had strange magical powers like the ones not seen for almost eighty years. These powers ere similar, both involved a small crystal, Kai’s ruby. They figured that there most be others out there with the crystals, and powers that hadn’t existed for so long.
They were out there, out in the world with without knowing what their powers were.

“Let’s go find them.” Radclaw said. And the two were off on their search

 Creation

Well now. What the heck is this?

I created this story when I was eleven. I know what you're thinking. "Why did it take you five years to show it to anyone?" Well, I wanted to know waht happens in the end. And now I have enough story for 13 games.

The idea came to me when playing Golden Sun, which drew me away from the typical themes where soem guys had weapons and some guys had magic, thus blending them. The elemental powers, well, that was a craze going on at the same time as the virtual reality craze, so the idea stuck.

It came to my attention to make this game when I saw that I didn't even have 500 posts yet. I figured this wont ever be canceled, so why not make some posts out of it?

Its a cool concept with the magic idea. However, the begining with the demon should be avoided, thats one of the uber cliches that will bring your game down a couple of notches. Unless that demon is REALLY important later on, find a differant way to get everything going. If the demon is actually really important, then you should still find a differant way to start things off because it'll make the cliche part even worse.

Dragoon de Sol:

More character detailings : trust me, that is a question you shouldn't ask. I have 13 games worth of story for each character, so it would be a huge head ache.

Screenshots : We'll see what cjipsets i'm able to rack up this weekend. Do to the setting, i may have to edit and do all the chipset complety custom. so we'll see how that goes. And the game wont feature a whole lot to be looked at. Mainly fighting and story, nothing more. the only thing screens would do is give you a look at the maps.

More thought put into this game : Is 5 years really not enough?

Dragon blaze: Yes, the reason for mentioning Shazmardei is for a later story. His only actuall referance within this game is a simple "Years ago seven heros defeated a threating evil." and thats it. And cliche's may fill this story, but some people like that. And you will obviously recognize the characters, as you may have seen them before.

Ok, thats not that bad then. In most games that say something like 'heros defeated this great evil x years ago", that evil comes back in the game at the end, and saying that statement at the begining of the game gives away a large part of the plot. If its in a differant game though, it wouldn't be a bad thing though really. I wouldn't go into too much detail on the demon, because I feel that an intro must set a stage for the entire game and tie into later parts of the game. If you talk about the demon a lot, it doesn't really set a good stage for your game because your game doesn't involve the demon (at least not this one).

Thanx. Honestly, if anyone has a question about that specific demon, i could deliver hours of info. But you'll have to wait for a long time before thats in game form.
