Charas don't show up in Database!
« on: April 09, 2007, 03:35:20 AM »
I've yet to see a topic about this problem.  But it's a very noob question I believe.

But why do my charas not show up in game when I save them to the RTP folders in which they belong?

A step by step guide (or link) would be wonderful.

Thanks a lot everyone!

One, you shouldn't save your character sets to the RTP, the RTP contains default sets shown in every game project.  You should save your charsets to their respective games.

Second, the graphic is only one portion of the character.  After saving the charset into your game's folder, you will need to select it in the database for one of the heros (or better yet, make your own hero).

This kind of thing isn't done automatically, as the computer cannot read your mind.

You sort of repeated my question.  The RTP idea is "kind of" what I meant.

After saving them to the respective file for the chosen game.  They still do not show up.  I'm afraid I was a little unclear, but that's what I meant.

Three: Generated Charsets are only 1/8 of an actually charset, look at the rtp and you see that
Four:  Never save the actual file in the games folder because sometimes, it cause the game to crash and so on
Five: always import files into your projects using the resource manager.
Six: If it is a black image when you try and use it and has nothing on it, this means it is not the right color format and needs to be saved as a 256 color image, which it is suggested using a program like ultimate paint that doesn't ruin pictures when saving it to that. (if settings when you savetell it to anyway)

If those didn't solve your problem then I have no idea what your talking about.

****.  Battle Chars always come up with some retarded error when I attempt to import them; "Unsupported PNG image"; "Wrong file size" and so on.

What did YOU do to create your battlechars?
