Streaming

Right, I'm trying to create some AMVs.  Only problem, the media files I use are ogg, or mkv, or other files Windows Movie Maker doesn't support, or any other movie maker I've encountered thus far.  I did come up with a solution though.  I play anime via VLC Media Player.  Windows Media Player can capture media from video devices.  I have a TV Tuner Card, WinFast, which is a video device.

Let's put some things together for those of you who aren't following.  If you already follow, skip this next sentence.

If I can stream media that I'm playing on VLC to my tv tuner card, I can capture them on Windows Movie Maker.

I attempted to do so, and I suceeded...

In doing the exact opposite.  I streamed my tuner card into VLC Media player which proved to be useless.  So I'm just curious to know if anyone has any info, or knows of any guides that can assist me in my dilema, or perhaps offer an alternative to this dilema by offering a media converter or movie maker that actually supports these files.  (I've come to this forum for a similar request before, I think it got deleted.  None-the-less, the programs offered didn't really assist at all.)

Thanks in advance

Boy do I have a converter for you. :D

I found this while looking for something to convert my BoBoBo-Bo BoBo-Bo avis to mpegs. it's called SUPER, or simplified universal player encoder and renderer.

Apparently it handles many, many file types. Including both the types you listed.

I've used this program myself and it works great. Not a bit of quality is lost. However, I do not suggest using it with a 800*600 resolution as you won't be able to drag files onto it's input area.

All you do is drag the file(s) onto the input area, check them all, set the output extension and press convert. I love this program, so I think you'll like it too.

 SUPER official download site 1
 SUPER information

Hope this solves your problem. :P
