I imagine that everyone from the original will make a return, for sure. It's the clones from Melee and some of the extraneous characters that'll get the boot.

Also, they haven't mentioned any new Zelda or Pokemon characters. Zelda's a bit limited - really, the only characters I could see them introducing are Midna from Twilight Princess and/or Tetra from Wind Waker. Midna would make a cool magic-based character, but she floats... that makes it a bit unfair, unless they put a restriction on her floating.

And Tetra is essentially Zelda, so that makes her just another Sheik... unless they make Zelda transform into Tetra this time around, and make Sheik an Assist Trophy or Final Smash or something.

But Pokemon... I'm not so sure about. Pikachu's confirmed, and it's plausible that Jigglypuff will return, but I'm not so sure about Mewtwo. (Let's not even go to Pichu). None of the Generation 3 legendaries work as fighters (except maybe Groudon and Deoxys, but both are Pokeballs), and the only Generation 4 Pokemon I can think of is Lucario... although Lucario might not make such a bad fighter. Other than that... nothing really, without getting into favorites (Blaziken!)

What are your thoughts? I know that the whole character speculation thing is overdone, but look at it this way - what characters are popular enough to include in Brawl?
