[Final Demo] Demon Destiny 1
« on: March 25, 2008, 02:40:41 PM »
This here is the final demo of Demon Destiny 1 before i release the big final version. In this demo you will find some of the new features i have explained of before such as the custom menu and battle system. Some parts are however missing from it as i am still learning from this but will be up in the full version. Check the read me file in the games folder. I would love to hear from you all whether it's praise or critiscm.

Storyline:

The first chapter of the Demon Destiny saga introduces the country of Maluvet thousands of years ago when an ancient Demon lord, Vekasoul, was destroying the land for his own evil dreams. Three warriors of unbelievable strength rose up and challenged the Demon lord and prevailed, sending his soul back to the underworld.

Now in the present you are a young teenager named Sazuka who is training to become a master swordsman just like his grandfather was many years ago. Far away in an ancient palace the buried remains of Vekasoul have been found and his soul has been released. Now with his grandfather dead by the hands of Vekasoul, Sazuka with his younger sister Iris and new friend Shogan set out to stop this Demon lord once and for all. The events of thousands of years ago are beginning to happen again. Together you must set out and brave the world of Maluvet and locate the three missing jars of Vekasoul inside the palaces of Essence, Power and Spirit to return Vekasoul to his once mortal body. Killing him is only the beginning.
The Demon Destiny Begins.

Major Characters:

Sazuka- Sazuka is the main character of the game and is on his way to becoming a master swordsman. After the death of his grandfather, Sazuka vowed that he would avenge his grandfather's death and he would not let anyone get in his way.

Iris- Iris is Sazuka's younger sister. She is currently learning the basics of magic and wants to become a successful female mage. With a heart that never wants to leave her brothers side she joins him in his quest for revenge.

Shogan- Shogan is a very advanced mage that joins up with Sazuka and Iris at the hearing of Vekasoul's return. Just like Sazuka he wants revenge as well against the Demon lord for personal reasons resulting in his father, Vain.

Vekasoul- Vekasoul is the thousand year old Demon lord spoken of in the legend of Maluvet. Thanks to the releasing of his soul Vekasoul has returned and is planning to achieve his goal that he failed to do the last time.

Features:

Custom Menu System- The custom menu system is a very basic and easily designed menu and is quite like the menu's in the old Final Fantasy games. It does everything from using items to changing equipping weapons and armour to even changing your party.

Custom Battle System- The custom battle system is another new feature to Demon Destiny and just like the menu it is easy to use. The battle system lets you use a wide variety of weapons as well as spells to defeat your enemies. It is quite similar to "the legend of zelda" type battle.

Cutscenes- Cutscenes are all over the Demon Destiny world and many can be triggered from obtaining new items or from the main storyline. They can be very animatic and should guarantee not to bore you.

Quests and Jobs- Throughout the Demon Destiny world you will be able to embark on quests that people have asked of you. After successfully completing a quest you may earn a little reward from it. Jobs is where you can sign up to hunt a beast and claim your reward off the petitioner who put up the petition. There are a total of 6 jobs that you can undertake and can be found in every Inn. The hunts range from easy difficulty up to hard difficulty and are not like a normal battle.

I don't have time to read the entire summary, but I'll say that my first impression is that this game seems very, how shall I say, generic?  Don't take this too personally yet, I'll read the summary in full after school.

Your maps need improvement, but I don't think you should worry about that until you've completed the game.

Is there only three playable characters? That might get a bit boring, I dunno... depends how you do it.

I haven't got time to actually play it yet, but well done for getting this far. Here's hoping you'll amnage to finish it :)

Thankyou very much for the comments and i know that i am not the best at mapping but you will be able to tell as you progress further into the demo. Anyway, i have just fixed up the download links as they were not working. Enjoy. :hi:

Hey!
1.Vekasoul is the name of a demon lord in Demon Hunter:Seeker of Power!
2.Almost all the chipsets in your screenshots also are from Demon Hunter:Seeker of Power.
3.There are also 3 playable characters in DH:SOP.
4.The plot in DH:SOP is almost the same as in your game.
EDIT:
5.A hell load of charsets you used are from DH:SOP.Ski compiled/edited that, you know!I didn't see any credit though.
6.The game is not working. When I try to play it, an error pops out, saying "could not open file venchile".(WTF?)
Talk about originality :/

(Sorry if I sound like an ***)

Alright, not to clear some stuff up.

1. I didn't copy Vekasoul from ski's game.
2. 1 of the chipsets is from Devil hunter and that's the ship. I don't remember seeing my title screen and such in ski's game.
3. Thousands of games have 3 playable characters. This was just a stupid question.
4. I admit that it has a very cliche plot and may sound the same but it is very different to what Devil hunters is.
5. I barely used any of the characters from devil hunters. Nearly all of them came from this site.
6. The game is working as i have gotten plenty of feedback from it, but i will test it out anyway. By the way, i checked and there is no such file called "venchile" in my game.

K, the third statement was crap, I admit it. Anyway, I certainly didn't want to demotivate you, so keep 'em coming! :)
