Opening .exe files in windows xp

Hi!

So recently for some reason, Windows XP is killing exe files (meaning RPG RT files). If I try to receive them on msn it says no. If I try to take it from a zip file it says no. If I try to download it it says no.

I checked in the Windows Help, it told me to go to the file click properties and then click "unblock" unfortunately, to do this, I need to HAVE the exe file (and it can't be zipped). Windows XP won't let me even get the unzipped exe file. Does anyone know a way around this?

Do you have any other firewall programs...and try Geeting in in .Rar cause that seems to work fine...

I have no other firewall except the windows one and possibly Mcaffee. where can I get in on the .rar?
