Choices.
« on: October 04, 2008, 09:39:02 PM »
Alright. On October 21, BioShock PS3, Eternal Sonata PS3, and Castlevania OoE come out.

Problem is, I only have enough money to get two. I'm shy just a little to get all three, but even if I had the money, I would only want to get two so I have some leftover cash for other things.

So... anyone who has played the first two on the Xbox give comments? I've already played demos for both those, and they are both games that I would like. I want to know stuff like "Just rent the game, it can be easily finished completely in five days" and stuff like that. Other opinions like replay value, etc. are liked.

Bioshock, definantly. Loved it all the way till the end. Eternal Sonata, haven't played it but meh. Seems to... I don't know the word for it. Also not up to date with Castlevania, so I can't give any word there.

Hmm... Tough one. Bioshock's a pretty fun FPS, and it looks great while telling a nice story. Castlevania is Castlevania, so that's that. I haven't played Eternal Sonata, and I can't seem to find a copy of it anymore, but I've heard that it's awesome.

Personally, I'd go for Bioshock (I'm an amazing FPS fan) and Castlevania (I need something to play on the go), but that's me. If it weren't for both games having minimal-to-mid-leve RPG elements, I'd say go for Eternal Sonata, because if you're like me, you've suffered a recent lack of quality RPGs.

*Faceplam* Fool. Buy two of the games at Gamestop. You have 7 days to either switch for a different game or get your money back. Dur.

I liked Eternal Sonata. Haven't played the others

Watched my mom and brother play bits and pieces of Eternal Sonata.  Didn't seem that great.  Plus the 'surprise ending' was pretty obvious.  Not quite cliche, just really, really really predictable.  Castlevania is going to be the same Castlevania, just with - of what I've seen - more interactive boss fighting, but any one who says that's a bad thing should be stabbed.  Bioshock is apparently teh graetest gaem evar.  Never played it, myself.

I'd go for Bioshock and eternal sonata! but thats just because I wasn't ever into Castlevaina, and I've played the other 2 on Xbox 360 and loved them

Doesn't that only apply to used games?

Bioshock and Castlevania.

Eternal Sonata is good, yes, but in comparison to a Castlevania game or Bioshock, it doesn't stand a chance--it can wait.

Now, enough talk--have at those Aggressors!

Hence the demo.

I'm thinking of going with Bio as a definate, and leaning more towards Eternal than Castlevania, just because there is a huge shortage of rpgs lately. Then again... Castlevania is awesome....

If you want more points and less whips, go for Eternal. If you want to wail on Zombies, Castlevania.
