Good PS2 games

I got a PS2 for my birthday. Its the most expensive birthday gift I ever got =P

Anyway. Any good games you would suggest? I have none so far. I like pretty much everything. I dont like racing and shooting games that much, but if you say it is really good I could give a try.

PS: I do not like metal gear solid. No, not kidding.

EDIT: I forgot to say, but I dont care about the plot. I like games with good gameplay. Screw plot.

Try the Devil May Cry series. It's a nice example of the differences from PS1 to PS2.

Other than that, I don't really have very many non-shooting, non-racing games.

Does Ratchet and Clank not count as shooting? If so get the first three of those, and avoid Deadlocked

Umm... I didn't do much with my PS2... Mostly just Tony Hawk 4 and RPG Maker 2. This was before I discovered charas and rm2k3.

EDIT: I heard Skate was pretty badass... that was PS2, right?

If you have friends and enjoyed any part of the dragonball/z/gt thing then Tenkaichi 3 is pretty damn good. Jak 2 and FFX were cool too... and tony Hawks 3. I didn't really play PS2 games that much but they are the ones I remember spending time on.

Star Ocean 3 (My favorite PS2 game.)
Tales of the Abyss was a good distraction.
Kingdom Hearts has great gameplay.
Katamari Damacy.
If you have the patients, Nippon Ichi games. (Disgaea, Phantom Brave..)
Final Fantasy X of course. XII if you want gameplay and not plot though.

I have a million PS2 games, seeing that money doesn't determine my count... If that makes sense to you.

- Okami (It's an action game where a calligraphy brush is you primary tool...and weapon.)
- Godhand (Awesome beat-'em-up)
- Katamari Damacy (You get to roll stuff up with a big sticky ball and lauch it into space.)
- Kingdom Hearts (what!? it has good gameplay...)
- Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (It's an ultra-gory beat-'em-up.  What more could you ask for?)
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (It's GTA.  Of course it's good)
- Resident Evil 4 (It's not a traditional shooter.  for one, you can't move and shoot at the same time....)
- Twisted Metal: Black (Cars loaded with guns and missiles blowing the ever-loving crap out of each other.  It's all good.)

I can't decide between Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 3. They're both different styles and both so awesome.

My opinion, Burnout 3. I'm not big of a racefan so I hate racing games like Toca, Gran Turismo, Need for Speed. So it's quite good to my standards.
