Anyone have any to recommend?

My computers kind of "fun" lacking right now, as the only game installed on it that I play frequently is Arcanum

So yeah...
Anyone have any to recommend?

Torus Trooper. It's a fun shooter game.

http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/windows/tt_e.html

Z shoots, X charges up a huge shot that can also destroy enemy bullets.

EDIT - Oh yeah, the game never ends, either. I made it to level 390 so far (easy mode), but once you get to about level 80, the levels don't get any more difficult.

Torrents and a decent internet get you many "free" games.

That is very true

However, my computer, for lack of a better word, sucks...so most of the fun "free" games out there, that I'll actually want to play, will make it explode in a puff of blue smoke
Personally, I'd like to avoid that

I mean come on...it can't even play Guild Wars properly at a decent speed

That goes without saying, but it's implied that he's looking for legit free games.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is (no longer) free, assuming you live in the US and have an account with FilePlanet (accounts are free, too, if you need one).

EDIT: It's possible that the download file is dead now, but I'm not sure, since it still seems to work fine for me, and I don't plan on re-downloading the game.

DOUBLE EDIT: Yup. Dead. Link removed.

Emerlat0rz. Duh. Your computer is probably powerful enough for SNES games and the like.

Dually noted.
That is why I have the entire SNES collection on my external hard drive ^_^
EDIT: Damn typos >_>

Also, FRAXY rocks...I'm just kind of bummed that they didn't put a default BGM in there :\

Cave Story is Cave Story, don't even know why that's not on the computer in the first place

And Torus Troopers was fairly kickass

Duge this up from an older, similar topic:

Seiklus

Seiklus is an open world adventure platformer, with simple, pleasing visuals, and amazing music.

IMO, the best gamemaker game ever made.

That being said, download it here.

No seriously. Do it. Now.

And this:

Cube 2 (Sauerbraten)

At first glance, Sauerbraten is "just another indie FPS." It doesn't look special...

But here's where you're wrong. What other indie FPS features an edit mode, that allows you to dynamically create and edit maps in real time, in-game, cooperatively online? Yeah, none. That's what I thought.

Sauerbraten's engine is extremely easy to use, and it also sports some pretty impressive eye-candy, such as dynamic lighting, and water/glass reflection and refraction.

Oh, and also, there are guns. And you can shoot things/people.

See? There's something for everybody. So go pick up the latest version here for free. You won't regret it.

Note: Sauerbraten is god on a stick. It might be too intense for you. Just a warning.
