I just wrote "I can speak English" on a sheet of paper and signed it. It meets all of the standards ironically.

I used irony in a correct way recently.

Apparently, Irony is a literary term, where the audience is aware of things beyond the characters that the characters themselves do not know about.
Such as the end of Romeo and Juliet, when Juliet kills herself because Romeo killed himself because he though Juliet was dead.
So yeah...technically we aren't using it correctly.
But the meanings of words can change, so yeah...now, according to todays standards, we are using it correctly.
