Swine Flu
« on: April 28, 2009, 12:59:57 AM »
So...recently heard that there's been 149 deaths from this new influenza strain, which is currently at a high threat level

Anyone worried?

URL was huge, but it's GoogleNews

And no, I am not, just wondering what you all think about it

Not really... I'll die sooner or later, might as well be now...

PS I'm joking about the dying thing, but I'm not worried!

It's Avian Flu Part Two: The Torah Was Right!

I'm not worried. Avian Flu came and went, West Nile Virus came and went, Mad Cow Disease came and went. This all just reminds me of that one 'What A Cartoon!' episode where a kid watched a mad scientist's lab and his head was turned into a piggy from an upturned vial of 'Swine Flu'.

He cured it by looking at a frying pan full of bacon.

Yeah, I know! I wonder if anyone picked up on that...

...although that has nothing to do with swine flu.

To my knowledge, none of that has come to P.R. Then again, Avian Flu didn't really come to the island, either.

You know, all three of those are still very much real. they didnt vanish.
West nile comes around every year.
Brid flu is still at risk of mutating into the worst **** ever
Mad cow disease is still a huge risk, as farmers still feed cows beef products

And yeah, it scares me a bit. Even though Im in canada, mexico is a lot closer then China.

Many farmers are idiots. Period. It's because they do these weird feeding habits and steroids and stuff that this happens.

Yeah, alright, but there's no need to make a media spectacle of it. People need to eat better (no more fastfood!), work out more, and...I really sound like an insensitive prick, don't I?

I remember that cartoon, but I don't remember it going under the guise of a "What A Cartoon!". I think it was "Oh Yeah Cartoons" or something.

I'm not worried in the slightest about this.

I live in Texas. If this thing goes pandemic, guess which state gets the biggest flux of workers who regularly visit their families in Mexico?

I'm not actually worried yet, since I think with some quarantines and fancy footwork, it can be contained. But it's good people are worried. Public panic is what keeps health officials on their toes.
