I think I've had it before, but  it was before all this happened. I had a high fever that wouldn't break and I was coughing and stuff. I think this virus is man made. It's ethier our enemies experimenting or us doing this.

Or a clever conspiracy against the pork industry.

That should be the chain game.

Yeah, I know! I wonder if anyone picked up on that...

...although that has nothing to do with swine flu.

To my knowledge, none of that has come to P.R. Then again, Avian Flu didn't really come to the island, either.

remember that. God, I hated those toons.

I'm a vegetarian, so I'm obligated to take this opportunity to remind you all that if it weren't for your pork-munching habits, the Asian and European strains would have never merged with North American strains in Mexican pig farms, and we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

If I die, you have my contempt.

You don't get it from eating pork from what I've heard. It's spread through contact.

Point fingers all you want, we still need to find a way to control this.

I propose walking around with medical masks, as in Japan. Also: look into a frying pan full of bacon. Weirder things have worked.

Since we're on the topic of pandemics, I saw this documentary a week or so ago and it was really intriguing. If you're the sort of person who stays at home on Friday nights and watches documentaries because you're that awesome.

Granted, this might only be a blip of a sickness scare. But seriously, rats, then birds, and now pigs. 1918 has an unknown origin, but it's possible it also mutated or was transported from animals.

Despite the immediate fears, and the obvious tragedy, looking back-- except for 1918- most historical pandemics left the world a better place after (since there was overpopulation, not enough resources, and over consumption before). So if this does turn out to be a pandemic (which from what I've haerd still seems unlikely given the precautions taken, and let's cross our fingers on this one) it might be something required for the world to preserve/sustain itself. As dark as that sounds.

We could just all not go outside. I suspect that's what most of us here do anyway.
