My band... again!
« on: May 14, 2009, 05:15:00 AM »
So I haven't been too active lately. I figured I'd show you guys what I've been up to lately. It's the same band I showed you guys roughly a year ago or so. As I remember the reception was less than triumphant. That's fine, charas is full of metalheads, which again, it's fine, to each his own, I can be a bit of a metal freak sometimes too. Anyways, link to our myspace with all four of our EP' songs uploaded. Criticism always welcome but as always, like it or hate it, I love it.

Sounds better than last time. It's still a little... Stale... Can't quite say how, exactly, but it's an improvement from the last serving, that's for sure. I could actually listen to this.

More sax is a must.

It seems a bit disharmonious. One noticeable thing is that there's too much talking in the middle of the second song. The instruments need to complement each other more, I think.

It's still a little... Stale...

Maybe he's going to make French toast? And it needs to...be stale? To hold up, you know? *tries to squeeze out metaphor*

Thanks Archem, I get what you're saying. Recording was good for us, as a band, it brought us all a lot closer and it expose our flaws to us very plainly. Everyone in the band would agree with you. I think it sounds stale for a multitude of reasons, there's a lot of parts where there's not much going on, it can get a little monotonous, and there's not a lot of personality in it, we're still looking for our sound. The horns need to take more initiative as well, in my opinion.

Dedlelly, not sure what you mean by too much talking... 0_o too many words too fast? And yes, song writing could always improve.

Lonewolf, the singer would sadly be me, though the bassist does some vocals too >.< We're hard up for a vocalist so I play guitar and sing. If I had the chance, I'd do everything I did over. The tone of the distorted guitar is a little... hm... flat? not exactly what I was looking for, plus I played the clean parts way too soft. My singing is really rough in some spots as well. I had a cold that day. XP What exactly do you mean about the tone of the bass? less bass more treble? And of course, any promotion we could get would be more than welcome. I feel we need to work more on local promotion before we take an overseas step.

Well, that's not saying that Megadeth is my favorite band, but whatever. Around here, guessing a well-known metal band as a favorite or preferred band is always a good guess.

Oh, but look at that, we're derailing the thread something awful.

Don't worry, not much to derail and besides that it was plenty lollerful.
