I'm assuming you're speaking as a white person who isn't actually affected by the word.
Ellie: I had a slice of ham in my hand. I was going to drop it, so I slapped it hard. It attached itself to the wall
I disagree with most of you. That word is offensive because of the extensive history behind it. It became a slur in the days of slavery, and it's still a slur today. The fact that is doesn't offend you is irrelevant; it offends somebody. And if you can make the tiny sacrifice not to use it and therefore avoid making Dragoon's girlfriend feel unwelcome, you should do the decent thing.
I general I'd say I agree 98% with Grandy's post above.
Welcome back, Jar Jar Binks.
Anyone in need of a sig quote?
Of course, there are the bitchy ones that are offended if we say expressions like "The future looks bright", or "Clear as water" because "Bright" and "Clear" may remind you of the color white, and therefore using them in an expression to make something seem better will by contrast make the color black seem evil. Those kind of people are paranoid.
Well, he quoted two quotes of mine as if he were pretending one was responding to the other, I assume implying that I'm a hypocrite.
