And yeah, Val joined like 2 months ago and is a mod. She is that awesome.
Second place on person to become a mod more quickly is prolly fish, who joined last year.

I think I was actually offered the modship after I'd been here a month.

But it's not as bad as it sounds. I was a global mod on a very high-traffic forum for a few years, so I'm not a newb at it.

For the record, I had no idea about this either; it's irksome if you're so inclined, but then I agree with what Gem said - if you announce that you're picking mods, people stop acting up and you can't make a sensible decision.
