Are the rm2k3 translation versions illegal?
« on: August 07, 2009, 03:26:51 AM »
I heard they were considered piracy and that some sites have stopped hosting the translated versions for this very reason.

The sheer amount of work and manpower required to track down and sue every last person who's ever downloaded it would be a huge waste of resources.

lol.

The same reason everybody gets away with every other type of piracy. Nobody cares. It's not a big deal.

You ***, that's not how it works. Just because you download the Japanese doesn't make it legal. It's illegal because you downloaded it, regardless of translation.

The reason why the English version will always be illegal is because there was no official translation so everyone who wanted to use it who didn't knew Japanese was forced to download it illegally.

If you want legal, buy the Japanese version.
If you want to understand the program, go for the English illegal version.

Wow, first time I had someone cuss me out here, it's kinda humorous really.   Accually, the reason I was looking for the Japanese version was because I want to make a game in Japanese real bad [yeah I'm weird I know it].   I wasn't gonna release it of course but I just wanted to make a Japanese game....

Can you really say "Cussed you out" if he layed down a string of three asterisks? And dont blame him for calling you stupid and then bring in information that makes it make sense AFTERWARD.

Also, yeah. Either version is illegal.

Well actually, I said ass, which is different word for donkey. Which implies I find you dumb.

Which is either a very good implication or a very bad one when you have to explain it.

Anyways, Drace is right.

Meh, I've been called worse.   I'm not dumb though, I'm accually quite smart.   Still though I couldn't find the Japanese version but why would that too be illegal if it's the original version the sold?   Unless people have found a way to access it illegally.
