I know, stupid bump/double post. But it's my topic :P

Any tips on beating Barthandelus?
I'm using Lightning, Hope, and Vanille.
Lighting: Commando - 3, Ravager - 3, Medic - 2
Hope: Ravager - 3, Synergist - 2, Medic 3
Vanille: Ravager - 2, Medic - 2, Saboteur - 3

Go with Fang, Lighting Hope.
Use slow goodies.
Use Lighting and Hope to deal the elemental damage.
Hope got Protect and Shell and it helps a lot.

Make fang Sentinel when he starts spamming his specials to reduce the necessary healing so you can get back on track with filling that staggering bar. You'll need a commander to keep the bar up either way.

Diversity, Delta attack(I think), Bully and the COM-RAV-RAV got me through the battle

Pfft, here's what I did.

I used a shrode (the one that gives you protect, ect.) and used Lightning, Sazh and Vanille. Cast Librascope, and kill the armor first. Have Sazh casts his faith, bravery, ect and it REALLY helps if he has haste.

Once the armor is gone, the attacks change so have Vanille as medic (don't bother changing her) and Sazh, Lightning can be ravager. Once you stagger him, switch to commando and keep attacking. After a while he'll cast doom on your party leader, so better be quick.

I came real close with my set-up today. My finger just wasn't fast enough on the Salvation Paradigm (MED-MED-MED). Stupid Destrudo...

Why would you need MED-MED-MED though? All he does after Destrudo is his ruin in baptism right? It shouldn't be a threat. Throw in a Sentinel to take the hits there if it is a problem, a MED to heal 'em up and put Lighting on RAV duty to get that staggering up again. The staggering bar goes *poof* when he uses destrudo either way.
I think I managed to heal up to full life again and all that with Diversity. It's such a shame Fang can't be RAV though.

Also, yes using Sazh as SYN is a great help in this battle, problem is just that he can't MED like Hope and Vanille.
Sometimes defense is your best offensive.
I know. But not in that battle and it's a shame. The whole Bravery, Faith and Haste on him are awesome. Too expensive to learn the other chars a great ability combo like that. 4k for one nod... pfffffffffffffff
Chap 11 and training spoiler:
Same here, good stuff at expensive prices. Your own 3 main roles costs 4k, 6k, 8k and 10k ON THE SAME STAGE! I'm glad I managed to reach all those ATB increasers. Good thing they added those Missions though. 200x better than the one in FFXII
I just realized that there is a world map if you click the Square button.
It's really useful once you get to chap 11 and get to move around A LOT more than you could previously.

So, I finished the game today, the ending was so and so. The last boss were assy.
But it still beats FFXII million times over.

Grindin' and stuff so I can complete the titan's challenge and the quests. Friggin hard quests with monsters that kill you over one misstake.

FFXII wasn't that bad, guys. Not my favorite but not the worst. That is held up to something like... FF8? Yeah FF8, IMO. Anywho...

I was really against FFXIII at first. Since 2004, I hated it... until 2 years ago. I just gained an interest for it. I haven't played it, but I watched a lot of it on youtube and I'm REALLY interested in playing such a game. Though, I don't like the battle system. But the game's character's are SO fantastically constructed! I love them all!

They aren't generic. If you haven't seen the whole game, then you shouldn't be talking. This FF actually brings it's chars together, unlike the other ones. They aren't generic at all. And if you say generic, then every video game char is generic.
