I know, non-violence over war seems like a no brainer. My biggest qualm with war is that it's usually because of a few men, so then, thousands must die. Its just senseless. I've heard too many stories of WWII vets who couldn't help but wonder if the Germans he was killing couldve been his friend in another life.

I guess I'm just not meant for war. I've also heard stories of people dealing just fine with the fact they killed people even though they were just people. Def don't think I could deal with that.

So, while I agree there are circumstances when war is unavoidable and even needed, I still feel the need to avoid glorifying it in anyway. Not that any of you have done that.

Yeah, let's just avoid that topic. I think we all have a good idea where the other people here stand on that.

All this talk about wars, U.S.A. and Ben's mentioning of book and cowboy made me wonder...

...is George W. Bush's book worth reading?

As for the Holocaust, well... there isn't much to be said about that, beside millions of pointless deaths, yeah.

Not gonna lie, the antiUS sentiment on page 1 was unnecessary and completely stupid.

I saw AoA last night when it started and I was all, MAN I COULD TOTALLY MAKE A THREAD ABOUT THIS. IT'S PROBABLY A BIG DEAL. Then I CBF.

I like how one of the first things I heard in response to the artillery was Russia going "whoa dude, you shouldn't do that" and USA going "hey man, that is not cool" and after China was all "yeah nah we don't think that's a great idea".

I wonder what Iraq thinks about it.

Gem, I hate to admit it (mostly because I see myself as fairly intelligent), but your homework post made me realize that I'm really dumb when it comes to stuff like this.

Maybe ignorant is a more appropriate term in this case, but still.

I need to pay more attention to news. Curse you, adulthood. Curse you...

Darn it!  I wanted say this.

I dunno.  I try to not get myself involved in these kind of topics because some people can really angry if you don't agree with them.

So, I'm off to another topic.

Stupider is actually a correct way to say "more stupid", according to Merriam-Webster, but is usually ditched due to being awkward as all getout to say.
As for North and South Korea, I've yet to decide my feelings on the matter.

Stupider has likely been osmosed into the English language due to how much it's used, despite "dumber" being better sounding, and meaning almost exactly the same thing.

Not going to debate about politics, because I honestly don't really care.

Isn't this just about a border disagreement? How north korea thinks that the maritime borders should be lower than they are by a little bit and the island they shelled should be part of the north and not the south?

Also, screw all y'all for thinking that this is somehow linked to America. The USA, like damn near every power, condemned the attack and urged the north tor respect the border. Really, when it comes down to it, the USA is one of the LAST countries that would want to get involved here militarily. We already fought a Korean war once and it wasn't super amazingly fun.

it's a quote. When I go back to voca I'll find out who it's from.
I'm just gonna walk out of this thread now and forget I ever posted.
