Gradient shading is making it look awfully flat.
I'd add some embellishment in there.

Her OC character HAS gradient shading on the hair and tail, I can't help that.

It's not the gradient that's making it look flat, it's the lack of depth.
If she likes it, whatevs, I'm just givin' my opinion on how to potentially make it better.

Her OC doesn't have actual hair, it's supposed to be magical. Hence the odd glow and gradient effect to it.

Well, my phone resizes large images to like 64x24 low quality jpgs, so I see **** for detail.
What I can see looks good, though.
