As your attorney I advise you that that was probably a joke.

You can't fire me! I have rights!  My attorney will hear about this!

Grandy is my attorney.  Obviously.

Now you both pay me so that I can discuss with myself.

On other news, I just found Reddit's "One Sketch a Day" thingie. That means I'll be uploading more often, I think. But not actual drawins, just sketches. Expect the quality (hah!) of the drawins here to pummel a little, since before I'd posy just the ones I was actually proud of.

Having said that, here's today's sketch, the theme being a tree house.

Plummet, not pummel. Nobody's beating your sketches up. As your attorney, I advise you to make corrections to avoid legal woes.

According to these legal documents my client is in fact your real dad.

The sketch a day thing sounds great, but I suggest you take the opportunity to sketch some stuff 'from life' whenever it fits the theme.  Sketching real things helps your drawing loads.

Well, as it just turns out, today's theme was to draw the likeness of a real person.

Mine ended more as a caricature, though...

EDIT: Also, I hate my scanner. I had to filter this image in photoshop three times just so the lines are visible, even though they are pretty noticeable in the real-life sketch, and even so his body seems a little faded in here... :/

That's good, but not what I was getting at at all.

You're looking at the picture and then drawing your own version of him.  I'm talking about looking at something and copying it perfectly.  Instead of going 'okay he's got a bow tie here' you go 'okay and this line goes like this upwards like so and oh look that's the top of his bow tie.'

Looking at something and then drawing what you think you see can help make a cool cartoon style but won't improve your ability to draw realistic people at all. : p

But I don't want to draw realistically :/

Reality is boring. Plus, difficult.

Today's "theme" was to draw in reverse; start with a black background and add white to it.

Well done. Not so sure I like the white on the face, but it is clear enough who it is.

Interestingly, the 1990s Batman cartoon was drawn and animated in a similar style - they started with black, brown, or other dark colors, and added color on top of it to accentuate the mood needed for properly portraying Batman.
