The Hunter

My limited edition copy came in today. As I've mentioned briefly, I had to struggle with an order issue that made me pay three times for this. Today is the day it arrives, and it's raining. We've been in major drought mode for most of the year, and it's raining today. My package is lying in a pool of water. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Oh, wait, it's all plastic-wrapped inside the box. What luck. Anyway, I have this awesome lithographic poster of the album art, and my 2-disc album has art that kicks the **** out of the standard art. Some kind of fancy AR thing exists, but I lack a webcam to check it out with. I haven't listened to it just yet (Battlefield 3 beta), but I'm better than you for being awesome.

I want to buy the vinyls for Diablo Swing Orchestra. Because pretentiousness.

I have never bought an album with my own money.

Could have something to do with the fact that most bands/musicians I like are long dead/broken up and won't get any more profit whether I buy it or not.
Dead - yes. Broken up - what? Royalties and merchandising are a pretty big part of most bands' contracts, and any one that's big enough to pick their own label instead of hoping to be chosen can demand rights or threaten to leave.

Now then, you should try finding music from a more recent decade. There are definitely good ones, but you actually have to look. The radio wastes all of your time if you're trying to find good music.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

New Mastodon album. Been listening to it since I got off of work about an hour ago. Digging the hell out of it. I'll do my best to describe it once I've heard it through a few more times (A.K.A. some time this weekend).

Shame on your ignorance.

The Hunter is pretty great. They really chose some mediocre songs to advertise it with though, which was a bit stupid. If they'd used Stargasm as a pre-release single for advertising the reception would have been way better.

I do love Curl of the Burl right now. Stargasm would have been a better choice, but right now, I'm really digging Creature Lives. Really groovy track. Most of the second half has me completely blown away. Still listening to it on repeat for a while to see where I end up. I want to make sure it's not just favorite band hype going on.
