Experiencing Problems

Sometimes, which actually means most of the time, my computer and internet lock up while running the Charas program.  I of course have dial-up, but I dont think that is the problem.  Usually, I get locked up before I can manage to finish two layers.  What I have been resorting to lately is doing one layer then copying it to paint.  Repeat with more layers.  Basically, it takes me four to five times as long as it would if I actually could use the program.  Please help...
