How does my battle frame look?
« on: January 15, 2005, 09:21:39 PM »
This is what I'm going to use in my new battle system, chrono trigger style. But here's the battle frame with HP, MP, status, character name, and attack options.

Did you do that custom? Because I really like the background.

I would suggest putting the Max HP and MP in there, so that the player knows when to heal. I found it really annoying when they did the same thing in FF6, and I had to turn the ATB off.
And maybe put a face shot of the character in, just to liven it up a bit. An all-text system is kind of... bland, I guess.

I see what you mean. Hmm....this might create a problem for me.

Suggestion board is open at this time.

Looks too non-gamish to me. You should try for something simpler, that doesn't look like you did it in photoshop. Also, use some kinda of NES font. There's a great one out there called "Press Start". That or some other gameish-looking font.

All right, Osmose, thanx, and I did most of it with iDraw

And I'm not concerned about the background right now, I just created a new map and put all of the pictures on with the spirtes.
