Soul Reaper
« on: January 29, 2005, 12:43:22 AM »
This is a game I am making called Soul Reaper.

Plot:
For a long time, the countries of Lasan and Ocelon were at war.  Eventually, a hero named Roy was able to unite the two countries. The two kings met to sign the treaty, but, darkness strikes, and both kings are found dead. As well, much of each king's treasure is stolen. Representatives of each side blame the other for the murders, and the countries return to war.

Twenty years later, a boy named Hans is driven from his hometown by the Domino, a terrorist group from the country of Lasan. He and his friends, Florence and Pearl, flee to inform Culo, the King of Ocelon, and to try to end the war. On his journey, he meets friends, mysteries, and a secret so dangerous, it threatens the world.

Characters:

Hans
Gender: Male
Weapon: Sword
Age: 18
Bio: Driven from his town by the Domino, he tries to unite the two countries.

Florence
Gender: Male
Weapon: Spear
Age: 16
Bio: Hans's best friend, he joins him on the quest to unite the two countries. Always tries to keep an upbeat mood.

Pearl
Gender: Female
Weapon: Bow
Age: 17
Bio: She is in love with Hans, but he does not return the favor. She makes many attempts to get him to love her, but is hurt when he does not.

Jack
Gender: Male
Weapon: Sword (Only one, called "Slayer")
Age: 25
Bio: Former member of the Domino, he only wants the two countries to be united in peace.

Xiao
Gender: Male
Weapon: Whip
Age: 20
Bio: Proud devotee to the Mirlan Church, he believes that the god Mirlan has sent him to unite the world.

Delquin
Gender: Female
Weapon: Axe
Age: 21
Bio: Xiao's wife, she questions the truth of Xiao's beliefs. However, she stays with him out of loyalty and for his protection.

Menilos
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Bio: Leader of the Domino, he stands by a firm belief that if you destroy one town, the others will fall. Unchanging in his belief.

Noctram
Gender: Male
Age: ???
Bio: A mysterious man who has taken the throne of the Lasanian king. His motives are unknown.

Features:
Switch system--A system where you can switch party members in and out at save points.

Adrenaline--Similar to the Limit Break, but party member's Defense is lower.

This is what I have so far, so if anyone wants to help, I just need some resources like battlecharsets, but if anyone wants to help in other areas, that's fine.

One thing I don't quite understand... why does the Adrenaline thing, make your defense LOWER? It seems like it would make attack+defense (and possibly speed as well) go up, but only last for a little while... and then they'd go back down to normal (or maybe lower).

Then again, maybe you meant that AFTER it wears off, their defense drops a lot... which makes more sense. If you're tired out after a sudden burst of strength, you'd be easier to hurt.

Erm, are you gonna replace that bad guy? Because everyone uses him for their first (And usually crap) RPG, so if you have that guy as a main baddie no-one's gonna give your game a second glance. Sorry to put you down, if you  really wanna use him, then you can.

That ain't the main bad guy. Not by a long shot. Read the plot description, and the characters.

EDIT:
Not to mention this isn't final.
