Inspired by Star Wars
« on: May 23, 2005, 11:46:40 PM »
Okay, before you start dissing this game because it's a fan game, listen to what I have to say. This game is in NO WAY a fan game of Star Wars. There are a few same concepts, like lightsabers, a cool scrolling text intro, some star wars music, and it's based in a far off galaxy.

Now that that's out of the way, I can tell you the plot. It's still in rough form, and I'll take any suggestions. I just saw Episode III and was inspired.

Story:
Kenrir is a training cadet at the Institution. He is trying to master the ways of the lightsaber so he can help to bring justice to the galaxy. He is about to graduate in the top of his class. Master Dooklow has agreed to train him personally. But before he can graduate, Kenrir must go on a mission with one of his mentors to a far off planet, on the very outer rim of the galaxy.
On their way to the planet, they pick up a distress call from a research station. They head out there to check it out. The entire station is over run by an army of Hungop troops (Evil Alien Dudes).
Long story short, his mentor dies along with many of the crew members. He meets up with a piolet that had stop there to refuel and they have to stop the Hungops from stealing a giant weapon.

Well, that's the story in a very tiny nutshell. There are also a bunch of side stories and such.

Features:
Custom Menu System
Action Battle System
Force-Like Skills
Freeroaming around the space station

Well, tell me what you think. Should I keep on working, or bag it?

With lightsabers, the force, a setting in a far off galaxy, and planetory travel, it might as well be a star wars game.

So far its a good story though, good luck with this ;)

yeah, it's kind of a temp. name, anybody got some better ideas. And I didn't just make it a Star Wars game 'cause that's boring. I can at least through a little creativity into this.
(PS Dooklow is more of a Yoda type character.)

Your game is an example of what is exactly star wars. >_>

His story is at least working at being original.
If you continue to work on this, I'd tweak more stuff so it's not identicle to Star Wars. Try to bring out some of your own ideas as well.

You could rename this Dooklow to Decan instead.
Don't go too hard on the guy, I can help him making it a worthy game.
By the way, Episode III gave me the idea to recreate the whole saga in 6 RPGs. Stupid idea, but it could be worth the while.
In any case I'm willing to help with the storyline if needed.

Well, I'm thinkin' of switching out lightsabers for regular swords, because that is taking it a little far. But I'm still going to have force like skills. Other than that, I don't see how it's too Star Wars. Maybe you can point some things out for me to change. But in the mean time, I'm gonna keep working on my CMS and skills. :D

Well, show me a part of the storyline and I can try to fix some things up there, maybe even improve on them.
