making your messages more interesting
« on: May 31, 2005, 06:40:30 AM »
1. Making a Costum Message System
Rm2k/3 doesn't support patterns very well, since it's either stretched or tiled but by setting the message to be transperant in "Message Display Options" you can make a costum design for messages. Make a picture with the design that you like anmd make it 320x60 or so then whenever a message is shown set the picture to be shown below the text.

2. Using the glyph
The glyph is a set of symbols you can show by writing $A-$z in your messages. The glyph can be costumized by using RmRecker.  The glyph can be used for either symbols like a floppy next to the Save function or two l's in the same glyph symbol so it doesn't look like "l  l" but ll.

3. Using \X[n]
using codes makes the messages much more interesting. Codes changes the advanced settings of a message like \S
  • changes the speed to a number between 1-20 1 being the fastest. this is very useful in if a person is wounded and speeks slowly. You can also change the color of a part of a message so if an important name occurs it's in blue.

Has potential, but needs a little work.
