Poem
« on: December 21, 2005, 12:27:55 AM »
I wonder why the willow sighs

when the wind blows through his leaves,

why the sobs are heard on high

when there is no reason to grieve,

why he feels his end is nigh;

he cowers from a woodsman’s cleave

Why, you ask, does he weep?

His reasoning is most unsure:

he fears the coming of the deep,

a fear from which there is no cure.

The fear that leads to restless sleep,

the thoughts of which are so obscure.

He moans in terrible agony,

waxing and waning, thoughts capricious.

He thought the world was cruel to he,

though verity’s ambiguous.

Frowning upon his misery,

as all his thoughts travel amiss.

Blankets of darkness now engulf him,

surrounding him in ferocious night.

His actions remain governed by whim,

wishing for impossible flight,

as he feels the night trim

his leaves in it’s gruesome spite.

Rays of light are now exposed

creeping over the horizon,

the coming that he had proposed

now was there for him to bathe in,

dark’s treachery now froze

banishing night’s terrible villain.

It isn't very good, but I want to know what some other people think.

Edit: Oh, and it is called "I Wonder Why the Willow Sighs"

Well I'm not much with poetry, but I always thought a willow would be referred to as a girl. I think it's nice though, even though I'm no poetry critic.

A willow is a kind of tree. just saying.

I'd need some time to go through the poem thoroughly, but I did read it, per se. pretty decent. i'll read it again.
