Blood of War: The Silent Edge
« on: November 27, 2005, 07:50:54 PM »
Alright, i've scrapped my other projects on RM2K3 and have recently started a new one.

The Silent war is slowly coming to an end. Out of the two countries that are fighting, the nation of Tousute is the one expected to come out victorious.
The other nation, Ranandell, is constantly being struck by Tousute's forces. Unable to hold on, the Queen desperately sent out their armada of airships to halt Toustue's rein for the time being by bombing the captial itself.
Although the king escaped, many of the nation's best soliders were killed. Now, having to turn to Bounty Hunters and Mercenaries, Commander Regal of Toustue and a rogue Bounty Hunter lead a force of soliders through Tornshire forest in an attempt to sneak into Ranandell territory...

This game is going to have an ABS, and a TBS (Tactical Battle System) That will frequently come into play. I'm also going to design a CMS, but that probably wont be out at the same time as the first demo. Currently, i'm in the process of creating alot of poses for the main character and company.

I have one good screenshot so far, expect more soon.

Give me your comments; good or bad.

Ironically enough, it looks like a silent movie, or at least that's what I speculate when I look at the screenshot.  :p

Yeah, it's a flashback...The guy with the sword out is the main character, by the way.

Alright, sorry for double posting, but i'm bumping up the topic...

Here are some more screens.

One continent, Tarenoun. Thats not the entire would map, I still have some to go.

More info
The game is going to have an ABS, and a CBS. You learn spells from beating certain enemies and such, nothing to complicated. You assign the spells you like to certain numbers from 0-9, and they take up "Soul Force." When your Soul Force runs low, you start to get tired and weary. You walking speed may go down and such.
You dont go and find swords to buy, you get the along to the story. Theres going to be a Day and Night system, and a calender system. Your also going to be able to take out people's homes, like on Fable. More stuff to come, but i'll worry about that once I finish writing the story.

I'm not sure how many tiles that continent specifically takes up, but the map itself is 300 by 250.

Wait, are you switching from a TBS to a normal CBS? :(

Anyway, the plot sounds kind of average right now. If you have some good plot twists it'll probably turn out good. The continent looks pretty cool, hopefully it looks just as good on a normal scale :)

Anyway, good luck on this :)

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN
