its like the 200 year in power thing, that seems to be the rule with empires at their height.

They never stay in their pinnacle of power for more than 200 years, before the empire crashes...

The Yanks are almost due in.

But somebody will undoubtedly say "NO WAYZ! AMERIKA IS INVINCIBL!"

Good luck with the downfall, guys.
Im sure your debt clock is no indication of your pending collapse.

EDIT: The presidents of the past did some wickedamazing things.
I always admired the founding fathers.

Then again, the road to hell is paved with good intent though.

The thing is though, that whether you want to admit it, the US is a major global economy. If the US' economy fails, it will have an effect on  the overall global economy. Too many many investments in too many countries, and too many countries are invested in us.

Of course. And that's why we still thrive despite our billions of dollars of debt, the rest of the world knows they have to let us go slowly. It'll happen, I'm sure, but not for quite a while. Unless people like global economic depressions...

NEDM   :o [/B]

God, I forgot about NEDM. You get a harbl for that.

But yeah, people who hate America because of THIS president are just retards. You can't condemn hundreds of years of history because of one inept president.[/B]

The thing is, its so hard to find a GOOD situation to use it in.

Sure, the US is a major Global Economic system.

In its prime, so was Rome.

And all of the other countries would feel enourmous backlash.
After all, the earth is globalized now...

but wait...

what about china?
and...the united kingdom...
the commonwealth.

Just because the USA has an overbearing economy, doesnt mean the rest of the earth will come to a screeching halt.

There will be some suffering...and some will profit.

Id say Canada and Mexico would feel the biggest impact if the US were to crash tomorrow.

Your Economy is already on the downhill, wether you'd admit it or not. Solutions to fossil feul are coming into place, despite your oil industries best efforts to amalgamize their non-renewables with green-feuls, like 100%biodeissel, and hydrogen cars.
Funny, but if I recall correctly, toyota just announced full production of its hydrogen feuled line 2 days ago. No emmisions. No fossil feuls.
Countries like germany have converted to 70% national energy consumption being supplied by alternative renewable resources.

Im sorry to say, but the rest of the world dosent need you, to keep turning. Sure, thered be ramifications, but wed keep on going. You arent that special.

Ive never hated america for its president. Honestly, Ive never hated america. If I did, I wouldnt chat-er-up on this here forum, which seems to be mostly american posters. I cant hate america, my countries culture is the closest thing to American there is.

I hate its foreign policies, and the idiots like rev, who think its funny to paint the smart ones as idiots, and then say its okay because they were being 'sarcastic'

But then again, Ive always though rev was an idiot.
This topic just sealed the deal is all.

I dont take this topic seriously. You told us to 'discuss'....and when people tell you how much of a stupid, teenage-stereotype, douchbag you're acting like you say "omg...U guyz tak m3 way t00 sereeus"

That puts a nice coat of allweather varnish on top of the sealant.

Well, it would cause serious ramifications. Yes, ROme was great, but back then the world wasn;t as interconnected as it is now. Back then, countries could rise and fall on other sides of the world and have no effect on each other at all. But this is the 21st century. This isn't Rome. Everyone country relies on another, very few, if any, are entirely self-sufficient.

Indeed, good sir.

The World is globalized. It would cause serious crap.
I stated that.
But the world would keep spinning man. The Human race would not cease to exist.

Alot of the world as we know it would change.

But the same, if not much worse would happen if China Collapsed.

Back then, in the rome-ness, a network of trading countires only spanned so far.

Now the whole of the globe is networked.

BUT...

If the USA crashed, economically, invariably, a new world superpower would rise to the position. There would be recession, and madd repricutions....but dude...we would eventually get by fine.

Im sure if the USA collapsed, I would still wake up the next day.

When Hillary or someone NOT Bush makes it into the Whitehouse, I hope Australia realises that it's time to have a LABOR government. I am sick of Howard and his Liberals.
