Music doesn't work
« on: March 28, 2008, 06:08:35 AM »
I need help. The music in my RPG Maker does not make any sound either in Preview or Test Game. I've tried playing Field 4 and it didn't do anything. Sound effects and everything else is fine. Before it stopped, it started sounding of lower quality, where the notes were off-key and of higher tone, and where the stereophonics were not as blended. What do I do to fix it?

Go to the desktop and open the volume settings, then increase the output on the synthizer(SP) sounds. MIDI are syntheser-sound and therefore won't eb heard if is unchecked or really low.

It sounds like you have a problem with your sound card. Is it still working properly? If it is, you should probably tinker with your sound card settings, and either tinker with settings until it works, or find a way to restore it to the default settings when it worked.

Well, recently, I was freeing up space on my computer, when I deleted SoundMAX, as it is "rarely used." The thing is, it defines "rarely used" as rarely opened by itself.
I did not know that it can be used by a 2nd application. Then the MIDIs started sounding strange, so I reverted it using System Restore. It doesn't even play anymore.

Also, it's not the Synthesizer volume.

You should be able to go to your computer manufacturers website. If its an hp or compaq it'll be hp.com for example. Redownload the sound drivers for your computer, that should fix it.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

Thank you, DragonBlaze.

Actually, I hate you, DragonBlaze.
You made me listen to RTP for a few seconds to test it!
