Now I do mean it. You all do suck.

Also, awesome music is still out there today. But people are so damn picky and sucky that they want their type of music to sound awesome. Suggestion: Broad up.

I heard some guy talking at Journey's about how Grunge died in '95. He was making fun of the music playing there. He didn't buy anything. He must have been older than 25. His hair was died as black as his pleather jacket. I would have agreed with him about the music they were playing if I really cared.

He sucked.

Grunge music unfortunatly didnt die. It turned into worse music. This is why we have Nickleback, and all of the other groups that sound like theyre singing the world `Schelm`over and over in various notes.

It should have died though. Seriously, that was one of the worst period in mankind for popular music composition. Seriously, say what you want about hip hop or electro, but at least some abstract methods of composition are at play on the average say, Kanye west album. Grunge sucked.

INb4 gem dosent know what hes talking about. Nirvana was so infuential and talentz

I dunno.
I have to focus on the things that are getting better, and on the fact that humanity is probably NOT going to destroy itself entirely within my lifetime.
. . .
*knocks on wood*
No, but seriously, things do suck. Culture has been dumbed down in so many ways it's not even funny. People don't protest or take action anymore-- they post facebook statuses about where they like their whatevers and wear special-colored t-shirts.
You can either sit around and cry about it, or you can decide to do things better in your own life. You can't change everyone of course, but you can live as you like. For me that means doing everything I can to stop trashing the planet, creating things by hand when I could just buy them from MegaSuperUltraMart, and generally dressing a century or two behind the times.

That's all good and well, and people should take more care with what they do, but things like recycling only go so far. As far as not protesting goes, that's an american things. You know, being fat and lazy and generally not caring and submitting to the roles subjected upon them.

The ****? Learn some American history. This entire country was founded on not submitting to roles subjected to us. And all three major conflicts in recent American history - the Korean, Vietnam, and Iraq/Afghanistan wars have been heavily criticized on all levels to the point where the Presidents that approved them have gone down in history as some of our worst and the party that supported them lost the next elections.

Gunna assume this is some sort of troll bait, because there's no way you're dumb enough to have meant that.

Jesus christ Sai, It's a cynical view of MODERN American culture, but it's my view nonetheless. You're saying you've never heard anyone say, "Why vote? Why protest? Don't change nothin'."?

It's not my opinion of the entirety of American history.

Well yeah, but just sitting around and raging about how everything is terrible isn't really changing anything either, now, is it?
It's true there's only so much one person can do, but I honestly couldn't live with myself if I didn't try at all. It's individual complacency, the idea of "why bother, it won't change much", that allows things to keep going just as they're going. It's foolish to think ~you can save the wooooorld~, of course, but I mean, real movements and change start from the ground up.

Like people who get obese? And they won't even bother to go for walks to loose some fat? like "Why bother, I'm fat" and they don't do it.
Eat less fat and get less fat but they go "Why bother getting less fat when I'm already fat? I don't need to get less fat, I need to get slim!"
And yet they continue like they are. People don't seem to notice how there rarely are fat people above 50. Because they can't live any more around that time.

I get what you're saying, I really do. And I know raging about it all the time doesn't do anything. But sometimes, you gotta rage a little bit.

xD, prpl mage has a point.
