if you ever find your skill/magic animations to be un-inspiring or just not as good like say those animations the are perfect and not choppy ... read this.
diffuculty: understandable.
time taken up: can be as quick as you want... unless your animation is 800 frames long (ive made a 250 frame diablos animation).
today we are going to make my example, a nice 20 frame decrease animation for rm2k3 (simple to alter if you wanna use it on 2000).
part one.
what you will need:
rtp animation file sword2.
computer (and the other stuff to go with it).
a minute of your life.
how to:1. start off by going into animations in the database.
2. choose an animation space that is'nt being used.
3. click on animation file and select sword 2 (remeber this is just an example).
4. change the scope to local and the y axis to foot.
5. now if you look below you will see differant slashes tilted in differant directions.
6. choose image number 7.
7. now drag around four of them onto the black display screen that has picture of an enemy on it and closely position each of the slashes above the enemy test subject but also making sure they dont overlap eachother.
your animation should look like something related to this by now
ill post part two in a minute or two

part 2.
8. right click on frame one and select copy.
9. now paste it to frame 20.
10. now drag all of those little slash images to the horizontal green line in all differant directions then they were previous.
11. now... go into the mass modify menu and tick frame 20 on the affected frame space.
12. tick all boxes or whatever in the affected cell space.
13. tick transparancy and set it to 100.
14. now ok it and go into the auto complete menu.
15. with the frame range, if its not already at frame 1 to 20 change it so it is.
16. change the cel range again if not already, from 1 to 8.
17. tick all boxes in the carry through section and ok it.
you now have your completed decrease animation ... add sounds or whatever.
this technique is able to make really spastic animations like summons and combos and stuff.
THE END.
this is what frame 20 should look like finished and stuff.

It's simple, but it does explain what it promises.

as i said, you can make the animations as complex as you want.
that decrease example is a mediocre preview to its full potential.
