Hi. My Bro Kinslayer is right here next to me. We followed the Pope's passing through the news.
We are Catholic, and we feel that such a great person like the Pope must be remembered by everyone as one of the great persons of the XX Century.
We, as argentinians, owe him much. In the 70's (Don{t remember the exact year) we were about to go to a useless war with Chile, because of a frontier problem. Thanks to the Pope, that war never happened. He also did what he could to stop the Falklands war, just as with every war that went on during his time. But he did greater things than those, but we remember these because it concerned our country.

We are sorry because he died, because we lost a leader and we won't see him until the Last Day. But at least he stopped suffering and is in Heaven with God...

(By the way, we'd be sorry if the Dalai Lama died too, he is also a great man)

Pope John Paul II was a good and admirable man. You don't have to be a Christian to understand that. The stances he took on things, mainly other religions... read your history books and see how many Popes made an effort to reach out to other religions and end the suspicion and hatreds. Razor: The "reason" Catholics did not want him to die is because he was such a great man. His death was inevitable and it is good that his pain has been eased, but he was far more useful alive. While they are overjoyed that he is going to heaven, here on Earth he made the Catholic church look a whole lot better.

Even if you don't believe in God, even if you don't believe in organized religion, and even if you are not upset over his passing, at least pretend to show a little respect for a man of his deserved honor.

 Sorry, I wasn't saying it don't hurts for me, I was saying it probably hurts MORE for the christans.
 And yes, he was a good man, but he was also old, and lived a good life...
