I had nothing to do, so I dusted off the old MSPaint.
I always sucked at shading, tell me how to improve based on this weapon.

The shading looks okay from 2X zoom, but it's kind of blocky closer-up.

Also, the shades at the bottom of the sword are too light, compared to the rest of the weapon. I think that lightening the other shades a bit more might decrease the contrast.

I have a few tips, as well:
-When I draw weapons, because my shading style is so unrealistic, I try to give them a bit of realism by shading one side of the weapon a bit darker than the other.
-Because of the way the RTP charas animate, a character would look weird swinging a giant sword like that. Decreasing the size so it animates like the RTP weapons makes it look better, but at the cost of reducing the total weapon size. However, most of my weapon poses look cumbersome too, so don't worry.
-The center line of the sword contrasts the rest of the weapon. If you use my first tip, try keeping the center slightly lighter than the darker side, but darker than the lighter side.
-Paint is a somewhat limited tool, so I would recommend using a different image editor (if you want).

I like it, except the third frame is a lot smaller than the rest.

Yeah, it's supposed to be, like, slanted away from the screen, but it doesn't really look like that without my battlechar..... goes and kills self

Nice!  http://charas-project.net/forum/images/msgicons/msgicon3.gif  However, the hair seems a bit... I don't know how to put it, but it doesn't look right somehow...
