The Blade of the Rural
« on: July 16, 2005, 07:58:03 PM »
Well this is an RPG that has been put off for a long, LONG time. I've been recently crawling along with the storyline, and now I've decided that it's time to lug this pile of undefinable valuables into the limelight.

STORY: YOU... Are a farmer, named Darund Thraywust. Your farming skill has been recognized by the emperor, Rayegar, who guides his empire, Nigdan. He has ordered all the farmers within the land to deliver their crop to his castle for a mighty feast, celebrating Rayegar's seventh year of Emperorship. Even with all the assistance of his fellow farmers, Darund is squelched. Seeing this, Rayegar advises his advisors to tell you to take a break. Darund decides to go over to the Nigdan Fair and meet up with his friends. Unfortunatley, a strange man shows up, he doesn't seem to be doing anything worthwhile at the fair. Suspecting something, and attempting to try and understand what he is doing, your friends ask him what he's doing here. This man, Zises, tells them that one day he shall ascend into the heavens and join the gods. Of course, your friends don't reply to that too politley, so Zises goes and slaughters them. After that, he flees the scene, when two unwitting guards come in and suspect that you killed all of the men laid infront of you. So you're transported to Nigdan Castle to be put under maximum security. From there, you escape, and then I refuse to go on because the rest is a bit more segnifigant.

(Heck might as well go a bit further)

So you escape. After escaping from the dungeon, you confront the emperor trying to convince him that you didn't kill the friends. The Emperor is unsure what he should do, so he takes the matter to court. They conclude that Darund did kill them, so he is sent to be beheaded by Cloog Moos. Cloog actually witnessed what had happened at the fair that day, and thus refused to execute Darund. Darund and Cloog flee to a nearby town, where they plan what they should do next. Thus they travel along to find more about Zises and stop him, whilst running from the empire.

CHARACTERS:
Darund Thraywust
Age: 28
Occupation: Farmer
Weapon: Polearms of many shapes and types
Bio: Look above. I'm too lazy to reiterate myself. Nice person, if not a bit less sacrifical for the cause of others. The only thing that drives him is the fear that such a thing that had happened at the fair were to happen again with the friends he gathers on his hunt for Zises.

Cloog Moos
Age: 24
Occupation: Soldier
Weapon: European Long Blades
Bio: The guard who expirienced the murder of Darund's friends first-hand. Incedentially, he's also the executioner sent by Rayegar to end Darund once and for all. Of course, having seen what had happened to Darund's friends, he sided with Darund in his hunt for Zises. He's strong willed, if not somewhat direct. What he believes, he believes is right, which is not always so.

Liann Nabamona
Age: 25
Occupation: Gloomhunter
Weapon: Fist-weilded weapons (Including knuckles, punchblades, claws, and katars)
Bio: A traveller met upon the road. Seeing this, her past is somewhat rough to Darund and the others, though she seems to have some sort of link with Zises. She's unforgiving and uncooprative, but she knows what she's doing very well, and will do anything to get back at Zises.

Dateri Meatpoof
Age: 37
Occupation: Magician
Weapon: Canes (Just to note, he uses it like a rapier)
Bio: A master magician. His tricks are admired by all, even trained wizards raise an eyebrow to this man. Dateri joins Darund when he is found amongst the desserted ruins of the town of Tualda Vale. He is an incredible actor, a very strong sense of personality, though he is very haughty, being used to his servants taking care of him.

Lacaye Alddarenth
Age: 18
Occupation: Guardian
Weapon: Warhammers and Axes
Bio: Lacaye is a soldier over in the foreign continent of Roth'ton. She takes in Darund after an incedent with the empire. Because no boats go to Nigdan from Roth'ton, Darund is stuck there. Lacaye is compassionate and smart, but at heart, she is quite cowardly and will back away from many a challenge if she's not sure what will happen.

Mosdrae Athos
Age: 63
Occupation: Agent
Weapon: Crossbow, Musket
Bio: ?!!?!?!?!@#@#

Now... With SCREENSHOTS!

Darund shows a guard how awesome he is by posing like a weirdo.

The world is a dangerous place...

A scene... involving a kid who knows too much and a SHADY MAN!!!

Oh, and people agitated by the slow movement, you can press shift to start running.

Wow, love the character names. Cloog moos? Genius!

Not a bad story, although a bit strange at points. The king advises his advisers to tell a farmer to take a break???

This is gonna be a great game! And for the title, you could call it  The Life of Darund Thraywust or  Darund Thraywust's Quest or something like that. I can't wait for a demo  :jumpin:  :jumpin:

you could put maybe a farming mini game or somthing, since your char is a farmer, add some more side quests that maybe make him a better farmer. and maybe a better farmer, will do better in that mini game, and maybe you could win like stuff or somthing...maybe     (Z)
