Two Worlds (DEMO AVAILABLE)
« on: August 01, 2005, 11:07:54 PM »
This is an idea for a game. I'm still working out some of the stuff in the plot. If you have suggestions for improvement, please let me know.

I am making a game. It is, at the moment, entitled "Two Worlds."

The game is about a boy, Aristad, and his two friends, Carlos and Lathena. They leave their town hidden in the mountains, and eventually come upon an empty observatory. They use the telescope, and discover something shocking: Their planet, Ocelon, is on a collision course with a neighboring planet, Lasan. They are attacked by a mysterious man, Darna. After the battle, he assumes them for dead, and leaves.

So now, the heroes must tackle many obstacles in their quest to stop the collision, including a cult foreseeing the planet's doom, and the revival of a catastrophic war that could mean the end of both planets.

Characters:

Aristad:
The hero of the story, he typically acts mature in order to impress Lathena.

Carlos:
Aristad's best friend, he is very immature, but always defends his honor.

Lathena:
Aristad's other friend, she is graceful and beautiful. Aristad has a major crush on her.

Xiao:
The owner of an observatory, he finds the heroes, almost dead, and takes care of them.

Delquin:
Xiao's wife, she is as dedicated to him as he is to her. She also helps take care of the heroes.

Corro:
A soldier from Lasan, he realizes what is going to happen and becomes dedicated to preventing it.

Garnile:
A young girl of a town known for its part in the fight against Lasan, she accompanies the heroes.

Saijin:
Garnile's brother, he is 17, going on 18, awaiting the day when he shall gain his true magic strength.

That is all.

Methinks I've described this very badly, but I want to know what you think of this game idea.

More screens will come, particularly if I can get help with my game:

Facesets
Battlecharsets (sprite-sized)
Monsters
Battle Backgrounds
Panoramas (possibly)

I really like your idea. I'll be looking forward to more info, screens, and a demo when you get it :D

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

I am updating to say that this will be made on RM2k3, not RMXP.

Any suggestions for improvement on the story will be appreciated.

Could use a TAD more detail, but, whatever, I'll play it just from hearing this.

More info:

The collision is occuring due to a disruption in the orbits of the planets. It is, of course, the working of the villain, whose purposes will be revealed in the game.

The cult is known as the Believers. Part of their cult entails a mass suicide must be brought about shortly (days) before the collision.

Good idea, and I'm not trying to be a critic but a planets that move and even comets that come toward the planet when far away seem to be virtually unmoving my input on this would be maybe there would be some pages that would say it was colliding or something thats just me but unless they can detect very VERY slight movements they wouldn't be able to tell unless you have a way for them to realize the planet is getting closer.

Several things to do before i die:
-be lazy for 70% of the time...wait ive done that.
-Get sucked into computers and pointless t.v shows...wait I've done that too.
-Interpret the meaning of life! Or perhaps cure a terrible disease! Wait wait, journey across the WORLD!...maybe i shouldn't speak the impossible.

UPDATE:

Darna is not the villain. He is the right-hand man to the villain.

Also, there is a conspiracy going on. You'll find out in the game.

It sounds good, I guess. Is there anything I can help with (EXCLUDING MIDIs, I'm darn busy on those)?

I don't know. What would you say your area of expertise is? (I'm making all the MIDIs anyway)

Well, I find myself very good at system graphics, and it's been a long time since I last made one from scratch. So will you please give me a chance??

Yeah. System graphics will be good. I don't know what I want it to look like, though.
