Belated Introduction
« on: August 17, 2005, 07:36:07 PM »
Well, I joined on the 12th, and if you haven't noticed, I've been posting in the General Programming forum.

I am 20 years old, been programming since 7th grade back when all I had was Visual Basic 3. I began developing a game in C++ at the end of my junior year and it was falling apart before I even started. Then I converted it over to Visual Basic 5 during the summer and began my ill-fated Map Editor and the first version of the game. Frustrated with my map editor, I took a break (like months). Now graduated and in college, I began the program yet again, revising the game and map editor to their second versions (cleaner code, easier to handle) only to realize too late that the current file format of the map would not efficiently handle items, npcs, mobs, etc. Thus Map Editor V3 was born. Only recently, with the addition of Direct3D was the game itself updated to version D3D.

With each version I get closer to finishing the Game's engine, after which I will be able to focus on story and map construction.

I'm very proud of this project and hope to finish it within the next few months.

Why am I here? Well I came to thing community looking for spriters to make some custom sets for the game. While it at first looked like I needed specialized sets for image clarity, it may not be the case.

The website in my signiture details my Game's progress and features the first set of many screenshots to come.

Also is my thread , which I have taken to posting the latest updates in.

As an extra prize, I think this community will serve well to beta test the game when it reaches that point, so I look forward to the reviews. In the mean time, I am going to contribute to the community in whatever way I can, since I'm not a graphics artist.

P.S. If you catch me online I'm most likely at work or school, thus i'm not programming :( yet.
