It just goes to show you that some kids have waaaay too much time on their hands so they make these hoaxes and chain letters just to prey on the insecurities or the lack of knowlege (If Hotmail was to send such a warning they would use an admin account and would not do it in this manner)

I hate chain mail. One of my brothers little friends got my email and I get her chain letetrs all the time. I've passed up on true love 30,00 times.

But it is true, and just look for the little butterfly on the letter on the left to know it's real.

Please forward this email so that we know you are still using this account.

WARNING WARNING

Hotmail is overloading and we need to get rid of some people and we want to find out which users are actually using their Hotmail accounts. So if you are using your account, please pass this e-mail to every Hotmail user that you can and if you do not pass this letter to anyone we will delete your account.

Let me go over the imperfections.

Subject: Fwd: Hotmail is shutting down, pls read this if you have hotmail.

MSN wouldn't forward mails to members, they mass e-mail.
MSN staff would NEVER EVER EVER use the "word" 'pls'. What kind of bullcrap is that?  MSN would never shut down.  It's MICROSOFT DAMMIT.

LOL!  MSN would insert a script that grabs your hotmail account name and it would say "Dear %hotmailaccountname%,"

Miscrosoft does not run out of resources.  There is no sudden rush of new users signing up to Hotmail, that's totally illogical.  If Microsoft really was shut down they wouldn't warn people, let alone a month in advance. Again, they would have mass mailed this to every member, so no member could have been left out, thus defeating the purpose of this BS letter.  They cannot track forwarded mail to know if a user has recieved this from a forward.

WARNING WARNING

GAHAHAHAHAHA!  Microsoft...use the term "WARNING WARNING" ...GAHAHAHAHAH!

In another letter it said something like passing it to exactly 20 people or whatever...like they'd care how many?

Another thing, if ANY site EVER asks for your username or password, they are not the official staff in any way and are going to jack you over.

Several things wrong here.  Hotmail Administrators sign it as a group, so it would sound more like: "The Hotmail/MSN Staff" or something.

Another thing, Jon Henerd would never put "Mr.".  Since he's a top notch guy, he would leave that off entirely.  Hotmail Admin. Dept...LAWL

Admin would not be abbreviated. It's administration or administrator.

Dept would not be abbreviated, it would be department.

Tehre are several grammer errors, SEVERAL.

There's about 30 other things wrong with this I will not go in to.

That's the saddest chain letter impersonation I've seen yet.
