No actual company would ever say "get rid of some people" in an official context. And no company would ever voice their internal problems (running out of resources) to their clients. They keep it covered up as long as possible in hopes of fixing the problem and not worrying anyone.

Though I can see how a lot of the younger Hotmail users wouldn't think of things like that and could be fooled by this.
