I'm sorry, but that's really, really dumb. Sounds like an excuse to just use that avatar you've got there without editing.

Not really...the avatars face is not his real face.  I got another face that was originally a different color to be colored black.  The face on my avatar is not his face anymore.

Well, it's still pretty dumb, both choice-wise and logicly. I mean, his hair would be dark UNDER the ground, not ABOVE it where there's sunshine and etc.

If you are gonna say that i suggest you make a charset where half his hair is black and half is blond.  That way you could have a transitional period.  Maybe a mission in which his hair turns back to black.

Actually hes right,  Hair gets lighter by sunlight "sun dyed, and skin gets darker with sunlight.

Meiscool:Well, if it was your character, Im sure you would do it like that.  But...being who he is...thats how it works.  Ever even think about how it may have happened?  Radiation, chemicals, not human, different personalities which change appearance?  There are many elements to incorporate this phenomena that happens.  Think about that before calling it dumb.

Ryos4: It isn't something he controls.  But having a charset like that might not be a bad idea.

I didnt say it was but are you gonna make it so that it just flashes to black.  Thats gonna look very choppy.  That his hair just changes in a flash.  Also a few days in darkness doesnt seem long enough.  It should take atleast a few months.  Its not like his hair is colored with mood coloring (like mood ring) or something.

There are always ideas in games that get dropped and i think his black hair color is something that should be dropped.

Heh heh. Wow, a huge Radiation excuse just for hair? That's makes it even stupider. I've thought about all that cliche poison and mulit personalities, just didn't expect you to put something cliche like that in your story, that's all. But, in all seriousness, if you're planning on having that, least make the hair set that most people like be the main hair set, not the black one.

Well, the changes of it changing are slim.  It ties better into the story.  I dont think the color of the characters hair will make the game any better or worse.  If it does for you, than thats really shallow.  And Radiation was just an example.  I never said it was the reason.

Wow wow wow... wait a second here. So, you're saying that if I put something really really dumb in my game, like every time my hero gets mad my main hero's feet turn purple and his nose turns into a sword, because as a non-human child he was exposed to radiation while he was angry at his mother, that it won't make a difference to the game, especially if the chance of that happening is super dooper slim and only happens once in the WHOLE game? That's not shallow, its called having a low talerence for pointless things that attept to drown out some huge story like The Matrix has. And yes, hair color does make a difference. Would you want to play a game where the main male hero's hair was pink? At first glance, I'm sure you'd think it's a stupid game. I mean, how great would God of War (omg, using the big game comparision again, bite me if you don't like it) be if Krytos had pink, spiked up hair every time he went undergroud?

I'll all for having twists and extras in a game, and don't think I'm trying to say you game is bad or anything, I'm just saying that this new idea of yours isn't a very good one and should be revised. Heck, I'd rather play out the entire game as black-hair then have it change here and there for some unworldly reason.

See, but it doesnt switch out of nowhere.  And you cant talk about purple feet and sword noses and etc.  All we're talking about here is a change in the color of hair.  If it reall bothers you THAT much, that the main characters hair is Black instead of Blonde, then tough luck.  Thats how it is.  If its worth making such a big arguement about, then just dont play the game.  And I know that its not gonna end here, cause you have to get the last word of course.  And you have to be right. _sweat_

Heh heh, I don't have to be right. You know my opinion, and you know the opinion of the others on here. If you want to keep this idea, do as you like, after all, it's your game. I, being slightly more experienced in game making then you are, was just making a suggestion that you drop the rediclious (sp?) idea, but if you came some how tie it all in and still make it interesting, be my guest. But, I will admit that I like to have the last word, as I'm sure you will when you painstakingly reply to this.

I wont argue the fact that you know more about RPG making, because when it comes to coding, I'm as clueless as anything.  But how about this?  If I can't make it play out well enough, I'll ditch the black hair.  But for now though you'll have to deal with it.  And I'll be civil and let you have the last word.

*pssssssssst* hey, Link mate ... you just took the last word lol

Hmm, a black haired Skylar...certainly breaks away from the Blondie hero Cliche that most people tend to follow (even me >.>" But I got blonde (well, fair, silverish hair) so I'm allowed to do it! k! <.<"")

I'm interested in how your topic's description states a demo on the 12th two months ago...

Oook, That explains a few things... no need to argue about how fast the hair colour changes, Look at DBZ they turn blond in the blink of an eye and turn "super syan"

Let LF decide the hair colour. If you don't, he'll eat you -->  ''''.(>.<).'''' - Rarrrh

This whole "from underground" plot... sounds original enough... good work
