Good for a start.
Try shading with darker and lighter colors.

Also, try giving him more of a gut, and the hair a bit smaller.

Instead of outlining in black, outline in a darker shade of whatever color you are outlining.

If you want my REAL honest opinion. It doesn't look anything like Homer Simpson. No gut, the hair looks weird. You got the skin color and the clothes correct, but no real detain is in it.

 Now, now, for the charset, yes, it doesn't look right in many ways, but I'm pretty sure you'll make it better. Just keep in mind: Fat, bald (almost) and......... fat? I dunno, I think thats it, fat and bald.

I'm very sorry for what I've done but I just couldn't stop myself. OH well.  

Don't listen to them skullkid try and you'll definately succeed. Compare the two chars and see what I have done and how simple it was. Try doing that yourself to some other chars. Good luck!

Oh and do you know why everyone replied so horribly?

Me5kuTis- You do great stuff, but this homer still doesn't impress me like your other things have. I still like it doesn't look much like him other then the colors, and still think it's not fat enough.

And, we wern't "mean" because of the gun smilies, we were "critical" because he wanted to know what we thought and we answered.
