Rebelhart - My newest project.

The Shining Force was considered to be a folk-tale by many. According to the legend, the Shining Force was summoned 3 times, 1,000 years apart, to spare the world of Rune a horrible fate. 10 years ago, a familiar enemy rose up to try to end the world once again, and there was no Shining Force to defend the world. Now, Ome rules over the world with an iron fist, easily knocking down anyone who opposes him. The Shining Force was thought to be nothing but a myth by all people from then on out. Or, at least, most people. But there are a select few who dare to defy the rule of Darksol and rise against his tyranny, the most determined being a young man named Rebel Chase.

Rebel Chase was an orphan for as long as he could remember. He couldn't even bring up the slightest image his parents. When he was 14, he was told that he was to be excecuted for defying Ome's law. That's also when he found out about the legend of the Shining Force, and the familiaritys betweem Darksol, who was described in the story, and Ome, the man that took over Rune. It was then that he promised himself to find the Shining Force and destroy Ome. He is now 19, and a fugitive from the law. He has already begun his journey to overthrow Ome, and he has a plan. He is going to assemble a team, a new Shining Force, and destroy Ome once and for all.

The only problem is, Ome also has a plan. He is going to ressurect the monsters of legends, Dark Dragon and Zeon, and manipulate thier power to his own good, just as Darksol had tried many years ago.

This game is a sequel to Shining Force CD (3), which was a sequel to Shining Force - The Sword of Hayja, which was a sequel to Shining Force - The Legacy of Great Intention. It has a CBS almost exactly like Shining Force, except with a new twist - you can have a character next to an enemy, and not attack - instead, you could Team Prep, which is just like a normal wait cycle, except if another of your characters attacks the same enemy, you can unleash a powerful Team Attack, a special attack that can do anything from convert an enemy on to your team to kill an enemy instantly. Both characters have to have thier charge bar full, though.

I bet to people that havn't played Shining Force, this sounds confusing as hell. Imagine how hard it was for me to get that system up and working. But I did, and it works (to an extent).

It sounds crappy on paper, I think.

Not one post... When you told me, it sounded like a pretty good game. Guess these guys didn't think so, or maybe they just had no opinion. (BTW, this is the kid who showed me Rm2k3. I'm better than him, now)

I'd watch that "I'm better then you" attitude. I told a guy that once, and he exploded. Then, all his friends came and backed him up... so yeah, I got pretty screwed. Just watch it.

Well, the TBS sounds cool if it works well, but the actual story sounds like a cliched fan game, but I haven't even played shining force, so I don't really know.

If this TBS works well, its a shame its not in an original story :( But if you really want to make a fan game, its your choice. Even though they're usually not as good as original games, they can be a lot of fun to work on, and thats all that really matters when making non-commercial games :)

Do you have any screenies?

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

Yeah, I'm cool with you. I'm trying to get that whole "I'm smarter then you thing" to a minium, and hope I'm going better. Sorry for any crudeness I gave to you ZXK.

Anyways, I've tried and failed to make a good tactics battle system for R2k3, so I'm looking foward to seeing it on a engine demo.
