So...my game title.

The one I'd worked with since the beginning was "Palis: The Awakening" (Something in the game is called an "awakening" and it's what a lot of characters go through, but I don't want to go into too much detail and give it away) and then another one that came to mind "Palis: Tales of the Oneirocritica" (Also for a number of reasons, mainly though, that as the game progresses, the characters all have strange dreams that if interpreted correctly say a lot/are prophetic).
So please vote or else make another suggestion. Thank you!

Why did you call this "a dumbo thread"?

Anyway, I really can't decide unless I get the full plot.

I dont think you should have it be called tales of w/e its called.  It might be associated with the tales series (tales of pantasia, destiny, world, etc).  However if you worded it differntly and placed tales after the other word w/e that word may be, you should be fine.

I'd have to go with the awakening just becuase it sounds less cliche then the other one.

You could just call it Palis though instead of adding words behind it.

I agree with DB. Very few people know what an oneirocritica is, and they might think it's just a big meaningless word put in the title to make it seem important. The Awakening isn't too bad, but something better would be preferable. Perhaps Endless Dreams, or something of the like.

If you actually play though the dreams that would be a good idea, or maybe something "Lost in a Dream" or "Prophetic Visions".  Or instead of dream it could be "Nightmare Chronicals", "Chronic Nightmares" which would be odd but its just a thought. Last random idea, "the Prophets of Chronic Nightmares". lol.

Play around with worlds like these im sure ull figure out something.

Edit: Now that i think about it "The Prophets of Chronic Nightmares" is a pretty interesting title.  From the title itself a great idea can be sprung.  If i was at all creative i would turn that into a game idea.

What are you, an idiot? It went 4 minutes without a post and you say it isn't doing well? Shhssh.

Anyway, I chose "Other" because that certainly is the most original name I've heard in a long time.

How many games do you know called "Other"?

Thanks for those who are being helpful ^^. I've never heard of "Tales of..." series, but I guess they're pretty famous since you're advising me against it.
I added the "Palis:" because it's loosely based on a story my friends and I wrote called "Palis" (it's very very different, though).
The dreams are not played through (once in a while they are, but not all the time). I wish I could tell you more but it's hard without giving the purpose of these dreams, and thus giving it away. Basically the dreams come and at first are really obscure, but as the story progresses and more stuff is figured out, they begin to make more sense.
My story is a bit strange, and unless you're playing through it, might seem...well...different.
Basically it starts off where most stories would end or be close to ending (no, this is not one of those continuations of an old story. It's actually it's own story and that's where it starts). I've made up my own story, and tried to add elements from actual civilizations and religons, as well as some influence from (and twists on) Campbell's theory of the heroic journey. If you were to just play it through, then you'd just get the story. If you play it through and look for things (symbolism, allegories, etc), you'll get much more out of it. It's not supposed to be just telling a story, it's supposed to be telling a story, and satisfying the mind.

So here I'll try my best to describe what happens without going into detail...

---------------------
Two ancient, warring states- the northern Derians and the southern Lithians- now stand at the end of an age-old war. For the past thousand years, the north had gradually taken over the continent, now leaving the southern polis of Macaria as the last stronghold for the Lithians.
In a time when  annihilation is constantly a threat, the Macarian people have become puritan and fearful, living in complete trust of their beloved queen, Galatea.
When one day a boy from an island -once thought to be no more than myth- arrives with a warning, the threat of a northern invasion becomes imminent. In a last attempt to form a legitimate army, Galatea calls on her estranged son, Nichi, to travel to the lawless countryside for help- a task that is dangerous for even the most skilled of soldiers.
Hardened by years as an officer in the wars, Nichi is confident of a short journey. But as he and the island messenger -a wind mage named Malice- travel on, Nichi finds himself consumed by terrible nightmares which deprive him of sleep and plague his skills. The youthful and somewhat innocent Malice is not free of burden either. For though he will not quite say why, he refuses to return home.
As the journey continues, both men must learn to confront their pasts and come to terms with the actions of war. Yet while these two begin on the same path they soon find that each fork in the road pulls them further and further apart.

We all have our myths- tales of heros and their great journeys. Yet too often time erodes the truth and we lose sight of the people who lurk beneath the guise of these deeds. There is no such thing as fearlessness and no such thing as perfection.
Civilizations rise and fall, men are born and men die. Still, humanity will never learn its lesson; it is folly to play with fate.
-----------------------

That sounded like an ad campaign. But whatever. That's the jist of (the beginning of) my story.  I've tried making a trailer that describes his dream. I have no in-game footage since I've only written the script, so i was putting off posting it. But maybe I will.
