Spirits Redeemed

My new RPG project is called "Spirits Redeemed."

PLOT:

Two young men, Jonathan and Zakil, travel to the town of Vortecy in order to get rid of a goblin infestation. They are joined by a young mage, Matthew, and a Vortecian resident, Beth. However, they soon discover that goblins may not be the worst of their problems...


CHARACTERS:

Jonathan

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Bio: Jonathan is a man from the town of Danias. He tries to be optimistic, but also tends to get into arguments. He doesn't really want to kill the goblins, but rather wants to achieve peace between man and goblin.


Zakil

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Bio: Jonathan's best friend. Hates goblins with a passion. Idolizes his grandfather, who had fought off goblins when he was younger.


Matthew

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Bio: A young mage who lives in Danias, but visits his uncle in Vortecy. Knows most of how to handle magic, but it still sometimes gets the best of him.


Beth

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Bio: A woman from the town of Vortecy. She wants to set up a police force to help set criminals straight. Knows Vortecy like the back of her hand, yet hates the place (mainly because of taxes.)


Archer

Age: Unknown

Gender: Male

Bio: A mysterious man from the town of Trestal. He has a history with the goblins and wishes to destroy them. His history is unclear.

The guards warn you of the dangers of the Forest of Dreams, which lies between Vortecy and the castle.

That's all I have to say for now about this, but I'll update.

There has been a deal struck between the villain and the goblins. What the deal is and why the deal was made will be revealed in the game.

Jonathan and Zakil are a little too bright.  I'd suggest editing the reds on them to something a little less... in your face.

I agree with DarkFlood2, it's hard to get people to like your game right away without telling them stuff.
How about features? CBS? CMS? Elaborate.

I don't know of any CBS or CMS that I will be using. I suck at programming stuff like that. Plus, I'm hardly innovative when it comes to stuff like that.

I'm trying to avoid telling too much about the story simply because I don't want to give it away.

I will note that there are Spirits involved (hence the title).

Those maps look very empty... Check out Meiscool's map tutorial, it might help out those very empty, kind of oblong-looking maps.

I'm going to eventually add some people into it. But I'll also decorate the area a bit, too.

I agree with bluhman. You've to to much of the same ground tile, and no paths per say. Plus. everything looks like a big old square. I know you probally wanted to get screens up because (sadly) many people only bother to look at a game topic to see it's screens, but you should wait untill you've gotten some good maps to show people rather then just show us now.

Also, you do need to give more story. Don't worry about ruining something for us. If you don't spark our interest now, odds are you won't later on, plus you arn't giving everything away as it is. Like, you could want to hide that some hero character is the main villian, but you've got to tell us something about the villian. So say, this game pits you against one of your closest friends, and etc.

The villain is named Cabro, and he is the mysterious man in the first screenshot.

He also has connections to people in the story (not the hero).
