One thing i recommend is not not smooth every kind of shading because it makes it clash.

On example on what I mean and how it can make things look better I'll show u a recent cg i applied.

Here did use smooth and blurry shading but also did some harder (but blurry shading) like in the hair and parts of the clothing.

What really defines a good cg (and this arguable) is the good usage of shading and lighting.

And here's a cg from a pro o.o

Now focus on shading and lighting... see how cool it all makes it ;.; it makes my eyes watery.

But nevertheless, good enough for a start I'll tel u that.

Even if anime is not your style of art i do believe some of the lighting/shading effect do I apply unless you would want to make your own style

I usually draw cartoons so I usually just color with cel shading, but one way to color I know of is if you set your lineart to Grayscale then set the layer to multiply, you just add colors in on layers below the penciled lineart. I believe thats what robotam did.

Well, the coloring is still good. lol, and plus, it just means that arm thing wasn't your fault, so it's still cool in my book.

Naw, that's a good drawing. I mean the Adam dude, maybe it's his eyes or something. It still looks good, just something that I thought was odd.
