Easy blinking hero for newbs
« on: February 09, 2006, 11:17:40 PM »
Things to have before we start:A normal hero pose,a blinking hero pose

1) Go to data base
2) go to common event
3) create a new event, call it blink, put it on parallel process,no trigger switch
4) set a wait for 1.3 seconds
5) Change hero sprite for the blinking pose
6) set a wait for 0.1 seconds
7) Change hero sprite to original pose
8) Enjoy a job well done

Note:Easy working error proof way

actually theres a problem in that. What if the game has a spot with a different charaset? Or maybe they have them raising there arms for a scene. That'll just completely mess the flow up.

If you have it set up with a switch that will trigger the common event to run and to stop then it would work and you could have switches for other common events or variables that will cause other characters to blink. As long as you make sure you use the right sets.
