"3d" Experiment Project
« on: February 26, 2006, 04:59:44 AM »
Besides my TBS I'm gonna start working on this experiment.  I'm going for something like the old dungeon crawlers, like I think it was Ultima, where your first person veiw and your enemies pop up out of nowhere in front of you.  Its gonna be alot different from those games but thats what you can pretty much picture.  I'm deeply interested in the concept.
I'm not gonna even start with a story, I'm gonna just make one small dungeon first, work out the battle system, which I hope will be an abs, and release a quick demo.  And if people think its neat I'll continue making it and form a story and improve on the system.

I think I'll start by ripping from one of those first person dungeon crawlers.  Maybe the SNES version of Shin Megami Tensei, or Ultima if thats the game I'm thinking of.

*Post*

EDIT: And when you hit that little button that says "Edit" like so, you can add any thoughts at the end of your last post. Nifty little invention if I do say so myself.

Hey neeeto I'm crazy and nobody cares what I have to say but you post anyways garrrrghhh and now I don't take anything serious but hey neeto a 3d chipset ripped in about an hour and is incomplete.

JOO whatever does that mean!  And the Z in front of OMG what does that mean!

3D 3d 3d Argh sure didn't take meis to post something so fast! Hahaha hahhaha right guys *Shoulder taps your shoulder in acknowledgement or something....yes*
Does it matter if I make a DOUBLE POST nobody cares!  IT doesn't hurt.

Oh and its pretty amazing how the chipset from the game eye of the beholder actual works and fits in that 16 by 16 square.  I mean I had to leave out some resources to make things fit and I didn't rip everything I just did a quick snapshot of the first steps into the labrynth.

Hey man, chill out a bit. Whatever happened here that I missed, it'll blow over.

As for the game, it's a good idea. A wolfenstein kinda game. I'm actually interested in the concept.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN
