"A Speeder" program
« on: February 26, 2006, 06:18:23 PM »
This pertains nothing to rm2k/3 or my project more like an awesome discovery that needs to be tested

Alright so I downloaded this "Free" working program called "A Speeder" from this site called Keygen.us
It allows me slow down and speed up my processing unit so I can play games that look glitchy and lag alot better and smoother just at a slower rate.
Now it doesn't just slow down your games or speed them up, It slows down everything even your computers clock.

While it was on and set to very slow, I noticed that my bittorrent was at 20 kbs for downloading.  FOR DIAL UP THATS AMAZING!  Ususally i can only get 1 to 2 kbs for downloading.  The thing is is that I think it was lying to me, it said the download would be done in less than 10 minutes but it still took like 45 minutes but it still greatly improve my download time.
Normally its just hard for me to connect and have things get downloading, but I'm guessing since I slowed down my processing unit it was easier for the information or data or something to pass easier...
I dunno can someone give it a try.  I tried it with just normal downloading I think its just the same but the estimated time is greatly improved but thats still just a lie.  It takes a little bit for you download Kbs to go up but be patient and check back in an hour.

Besides if it doesn't work you can now enjoy games that wouldn't function properly because their damn overload of graphics.  I found it also works great for the Gba Emulators, you have to exit and reopen the emulator each time you don't like that speed though.  It runs so smooth when your computer set to a slow, I find it works best if you set it at 3700 and your emulator at a frameskip 9.

Lol, you're download probably went at the same speed, but since you're clock was slowed down, it said it was going a lot faster. Like if you download at 2 kbs, then lets say your seconds on you're computer go slower, it'll say its going faster since you're recieving more information in a 'second'.

Anyway, it may download a little faster since bittorrent clients sometimes require a lot of CPU to go, and if you're slowing it down, it may free up some CPU allowing you to download a bit faster.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

This kind of thing is not my bag.
Everything runs fine on my machine, and download rates are superb.
But uh.. good for you.

Yeah if anything, I would want to speed up my programs, not slow them down. For most playstation rpgs, the battle system and everything just runs too slow for me running at 60 fps. I usually play my games on my computer emulator so I can run them faster, usually 100 - 200 fps depending on the game. Too fast and I can't use the menu system correctly.

I guess if there is a game where you have to keep pushing a button really fast in order to beat a mini game or something, it would be helpful to slow it down to make that whole thing easier.

Otherwise yeah, I wouldn't want to use that. Now that I have a new gfx card, all my games run good anyway, but before when i was using integrated, i would still rather play them at normal speed and cuppy compared to slow and smooth.

Would it make sense if I said the game runs or loads to fast for my computer? so I have make it slower to match my computers speed

Yeah, we figured the kbs thing out a long time ago.

I've never come across a program that runs too fast. Most of the time when a program has a maximum fps it can run at, some program such as emulators let you set the maximum speed within the program. I can't think of anything that would just run as fast as it could.

I have Bittorrent, and i have to say some things...

uh...

Oh yeah.

First of all, accelerators do not work. They are scams set up to slow your computer down so others can download faster.

Second, I must ask, are you using a router?
